It took my dog five minutes to chew through the seatbelt that I had the harness connected. I was wondering why she was so quite for that short period.

Behind the Scenes of Reddit’s Suicide Watch by TwelveColonies in Foodforthought

[–]UnDire 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I am mod at /r/sw but I am not active much at all these days. It is a stressful duty and doing something similar in my professional life, it can be overwhelming. The dedicated mods at /r/sw are remarkable people who I got to know a bit. Reddit is lucky to have such people.

Edit: I would like to add that the mods are targets for some sinister people. I was doxxed by pro suicide trolls when I was active and that was a drag.

I made 78th percentile with 4% too, but it must be more like 3.897% versus your 4.021%.

We had a guy that had a full on psychotic episode when we got our shots, at the reception station. I had never witnessed such a thing but the guy full-on flipped his shit and went nuts right there.

I remember watching this in my college dorm room my freshman year. Al Franken drawing the US state by state was pretty impressive.

My father and five of his friends are caucusing tonight. They all are: (1) Over 55; (2) Caucusing for the 1st time; and (3) Caucusing for Bernie. To those in Iowa - No matter your age, BRING YOUR FRIENDS! by Incog-neat0 in SandersForPresident

[–]UnDire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend and I got interviewed by The Guardian earlier today, while we were downtown. My friend had to use the Wells-Fargo ATM and told the reported we'd do the interview after he got his money....which was amusing. In a few hours we get to caucus in the U of Iowa Art Building designed after Picasso's guitar. All in all, a pretty cool day. It'll be cooler if Bernie wins.

What was the best nontraditional way your characters increased their wealth? by PM_ME_CHARACTERS in rpg

[–]UnDire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In a post-apocalyptic Mage: The Ascension game we set up a school (The Pythagorean School) to educate the young people of the community and their families in turn gave us goods. We would also help the farmers and tradespeople with increasing their productivity while freeing up their children as labor so they could attend the school. Teaching the kids in the way of the traditions also helped the mages increase their power, since more and more people in the community began to think more and more like they did, due to their education.

Prepare. I typically did about 4 or 5 to 1 preparation time to game time, but I like overkill.

This is why I go and hide in the garage when I hurt myself. Of course, that is hard to do when you lose a leg.

You don't want to fuck with your achilles. I had to have mine replaced at 41 from all the wear and tear on it. That was a tough 1.5 years of process up to getting surgery and the horrible recovery. Being bed bound sucks ass.

My Achilles got so beat up over the years, then it decided not to heal properly anymore and it ended up that much of my tendon was dead tissue. I got it replaced with the tendon from my big toe.

Mine was hurting me real bad for a while. Saw the doctor, and he sent me to Physical Therapy. I did that for a couple months: it was the most painful and horrible time ever.... I went back to the doctor with no improvement and it turned out I needed Achilles surgery. They ended up removing about 3/4 of bad tissue from my tendon and took the tendon from my big toe to repair my Achilles.

The whole ordeal was about one and a half years but I am in pretty good shape again.

I hope yours is not as bad as mine was.

Stephen Tobolowsky is awesome. I got hooked on the podcast and called Stephen's people to see if they would let me run it on our Pirate Radio station and they were very cool about it and gave us the go ahead.
