I recently started working at a hospital. It opened my eyes to a different potential for the Switch. by K_Pound in NintendoSwitch

My mother was a nurse and I can still vaguely remember playing Super Mario Brothers with a little girl who was there when I was like two. My mom tended to newborns so the girl probably had a new little sibling or cousin or something rather than being sick. Obviously, at that age, I wasn't exactly any good at video games, but I did enjoy it and I hope that girl enjoyed it too. Come to think of it, that's probably why my parents bought me an NES. The Switch could be great for something like that.

Call on Democrats to stand against the censorship of Senator Warren and Mrs. King. by merpsizzle in SandersForPresident

I do see where you're coming from too. I would certainly qualify Warren as a "boss ass bitch" in the most positive way. I'm glad our agreeing-to-disagree can be friendly, that's definitely something that I too often see as passive-aggressive. We're all in the bigger fight together here! :)

It started with Clinton, though, and will always be tied to her firstmost. And as much as I dislike Trump and as much as it's clear he's a sexist, as many other comments and actions have shown that, I don't think the "nasty woman" comment was in itself sexist and I think jumping on it and trying to make it a "thing" did Clinton no favors.

I use mine on a daily basis on my PS4, but I don't own a computer and I know that makes me a minority.

some of.

There were definitely no perfect candidates this election, not even Bernie though he was the closest.

Polls show Sanders would have won this one had he beaten the primaries, whether you want to chalk that up to the "youth" or not.

Yeah, and I wouldn't call Rand Paul a traditional Republican either but he just didn't excite, it's a shame that matters as much as it does but you need personality of your own to beat a Cult of Personality like Trump.

Yeah, Stein had some of the best official policies but she is entirely unstable, that's how she lost my vote. Stein and Johnson both still would've been better than the nightmare Trump is or Clinton being a total DNB though.

By supporters I meant more of people who saw him as the "lesser of two evils" than his die-hards. We need those voters to vote more left in 2018, 2020, 2022 and so on. Yes, winning over MAGA-hat wearing proud proclaimers of Trump's greatness who see all liberal thoughts as paraded by lazy stereotypes who hate straight/white/male people would be a difficult task to say the least. But Trump is the most disliked Presidential candidate to win in memory bar none, so it's fair to say a good number of his voters aren't exactly in love with the guy.

It's anecdotal, but I have a mother who voted for Trump that did like Sanders, it was just a matter of not wanting Clinton. My good friend's mother and brother are in the same category, his brother even a registered Democrat who voted Bernie in the primaries. Hell, Sanders himself would have beaten Trump, no question. That says it all.

We need more people to be won over to Sanders' way of thinking and that is certainly doable, and if that's not our goal then this subreddit is just going to serve as an echo chamber. The last thing we need to do is tie our fight to Clinton's failed one.

I know you mean well and I do like Warren, a lot, but PLEASE cut the "nasty woman" garbage. There are still many MANY of us with zero love whatsoever for Hillary Clinton and, even more importantly, there are many Trump supporters that we need to win over that will DEFINITELY never have love for Clinton. We should not try to attach our plight with Clinton's in any way.

My SO was already into Parks and 30 Rock when we got together but I got her into The Office and Community. I think those four shows together were the best two-hour comedy block in network TV history. I had to rewatch all of their Christmas specials just last December.

Bad News for Donald Trump: 'SNL' In the Midst of a Ratings Renaissance. Most viewed season in 22 years. by kabob23 in television

[–]Smark_Henry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's actually kinda baffling to me. I can't stand Trump, he absolutely disgusts me, but despite that being good material for them and me liking Alec Baldwin I feel SNL is overall seriously the worst it's been since like 1985. I used to be an SNL diehard who caught it every week, for years, but now I can barely stomach sitting through a full episode unless I really really like the host. Thank god for YouTube so I can catch the occasional skit good enough to go viral. There are only about five people on the whole cast that I find funny at all and even they are held down by weak scripts. It's not just me either because the crowd isn't laughing nearly as much as the used to either, that's just blatantly apparent. Good for them, I guess, especially since they've been getting under Trump's skin so much, but the content is largely weak.
