I've lived in over what 15 cities now? Including the Bay Area for a year and now Cincinnati for the past few.

Short answer: Why the heck would you even consider moving to Cincinnati? It's no contest.

Long answer:

Play What do you like to do for fun? How do you spend your free time? Where do you go when you're out of the house and how often is that?

Home What kind of home environment do you prefer? Rent or own? Kids or no? Soon? What's your ideal commute? And your ideal weather? What kind of food and shopping do you like? What kind of political or lifestyle affiliations or interests do you have?

Work Which area has the bigger office? Which has the bigger staff of people in your division? Which has more people doing the job you want in two or five years? Which office gets more done?

Yeah, it really seems it has the capabilities of being really versatile. I love improvising and I have built things in MaxMSP to use in the past. Putting that capability in a hardware box is so seductive, but there's always a trade-off

That's awesome. I love the idea of going computer-free and I've looked at literally every single piece of gear you've listed. It definitely seemed like MidiBox was the way to go, and since you've done it, I hope you don't mind answering a few questions. Do you use it for composition or live performance? How live-friendly is it? The big thing with most solutions I've looked at doing is the flexibility. For example, I know the tracks' direction can be set independently, but otherwise, how non-traditional can you get with the MidiBox?

Longer ADSR isn't possible in this form of synthesis. The Sustain/Release comes from the amount of feedback in the delay.

Right, but you are also using the adsr~ to turn on/off the availability of that same instance of the poly~. If you disconnect the adsr~ from the thispoly~ object and try again, what happens.

Instead of a float box you could keep things signal and simplify by using sah~. As for polyphony, send a target $1 message to the poly~ before the note on message. The @steal 1 attribute should work if you have longer adsr~ times, as they are in milliseconds. :)
