I totally agree and for the same reasons, that's why I thought you could implement that variable in the form of color grading (implicitly, so that it doesn't confuse people). Also the suggestion someone made about crest size = f(shots on target) was pretty good too.

Yeah you're probably right. I'm actually confused, I never saw graphs which had 3 variables intertwined (X/Y vs. X/Z) in two axis and how could one show a third variable relation (Y/Z) in said graph.

No no, I meant that take the goals/match as the value for the color grading. For example take a 2 G/M as really dark green and make a 0.1 G/M a really light green. After all it will follow a single slope per shade of green (since X is shots/match and Y is goals/shot so the color grading (Z) will follow the goals/match number)
