We receive so many confused modmails about why your roast was rejected. It's because you're giving us a floating hand. We need to see an unbroken meat tube between the Roastee's upper torso and the sign that they are holding. This ensures consent, and eradicates almost any possibility of Photoshop, or holding a sign in front of your friend, or in front of a photo. This is important. This keeps the subreddit fun.
So please, when submitting a roast please ensure it includes your hand and your arm. Please. We're so tired of having this conversation.

ETA: We've gotten a couple comments about ableism and I just want to address that. If you don't have hands or arms or can't use your hands or arms we do make case by case exceptions to the rule. We just need to be 100% certain that the person in the photo is presenting the sign to us. Can't do that with floating hands.
Here at r/RoastMe we're always looking for ways to improve, expand, and make things more fun for our community. Because we love our community, we want to make it one where people feel safe and can have a good laugh at each other's expense. It's fun, right?
In that interest, I would like to introduce a couple of partner subreddits that might be of interest to some segments of our userbase.
r/FreeCompliments is the exact opposite of RoastMe. At FreeCompliments, we look to build each other up rather than break each other down. At RoastMe we remove inspirational, complimentary, or, well, flattering comments under the Inappropriate Flattery rule. At r/FreeCompliments, that kind of behaviour is expected. This subreddit is as wholesome as they come (with very strict rules enforcing that) so if you're looking for a boost of positive energy, some encouragement, or you want to spread some love to people who are, go on ahead and join us over there. It's a lovely little place.
We have a history and long-standing rule that pet posts are not allowed on RoastMe. But now we've got r/RoastMyPet added to our subreddit family for all of your animal-friend roasting needs. I know a lot of you want to get your pets roasted because I remove a half dozen pet posts every day. Well, now you can. Get over there, and let's have some fun. I might post my cat later.
We hope you enjoy these additions to the RoastMe family and hope they can grow to be as large and vibrant as this community! We're well on our way to 2.000.000 subscribers, which is huge. Y'all are a great community, and if you have any suggestions, criticisms, or comments about the subreddit, feel free to use this space as a kind of town hall. I'll try to get to as many of your concerns as I can.
