Cool project and nice job! I've used this tool on multiple projects and I'm very happy with the results. As pointed out below, strength of the joint could be an issue. One should take this into account if a significant load will be taken across the joint. Sorry, I really don't know what to tell you. Making it to the homepage is pretty tough. Although almost all of my projects have been featured, only a few have made it to the homepage. Note that instructables has multiple outlets (Facebook, Tumblr, etc.) and your project still might be featured on one of these platforms. Each will give you a view boost if your project is selected. BTW, you could submit your instructable link to these sites independently. Another way to increase views is to share the link with family/friends and in your case outside Halloween and Special Effects forums. Lastly, know that the total number of views/votes isn't the deciding factor for contest finalists. Do a search on the forums and you will see where this topic has been discussed in depth. Good luck.

Very interesting! Do you print on the top side of the nut or is there a gap? I could see using this as floating hardware which solves some of the tolerance issues of 3D printing.

Nice job. My only suggestion would be to add the last 3 video files to youtube since most people don't want to download a file to view. It would also increase your exposure if you link back to instructables in the youtube description.

Cross-referencing each by embedding the video in the ible and adding a link to the ible in the YouTube description works nicely. There are a few reasons for doing this. First, you've already done most of the work. Set up a camera and film the build. When I say "most of the work", I'm referring to the design/concept for the project. Editing a video, adding text, music, etc. does take time. An easy and NOT recommended way to make videos is to just take your instructable pictures and make a slide show. I agree with Brooklyntonia. I've often thought I might have a winner only to see that I wasn't selected. In the end, I've looked at the selected finalist and realized that they actually did have better ideas/projects. Also, I've judged quite a few contest and that task is quite time consuming. With that, I don't envy the team having to down-select finalist from 200+ ibles.

Good catch. Unfortunately, I can't find the CAD file. BTW, the lengths are not critical - I think I cut them to fit while making the box. If you really need them, they can be easily backed out from the other dimensions.

Yeah, I just winged the pin length. This was one of my first woodworking projects so I was still in the learning stage. If I ever build it again, I will try to make it more of a puzzle. You could add multiple fake pins on the top surface. Read the comments below for suggested improvements.

I think it would be like any other tall bookshelf. Keep in mind, it will be pretty heavy. Therefore, you might want to consider anchoring it to a wall if you have small children that like to climb.

Correct about the cost of epinephrine. I'm not defending Mylan, Turing Pharmaceutical or any other drug companies. Good or bad, my only point was that the US health care industry partially subsidizes Europe's health care costs. With that, drug companies will accept the lower negotiated prices in the UK as long as the US keeps paying the high rate.

I've always thought of it as the USA subsidizing the rest of the world when it comes to medical research. I feel the reason the UK, Canada, etc. can purchase medicine at low rates is because the development cost is covered by Americans. I bet if the USA followed the same policy, the flow of money into new research would dwindle. I'm not defending epipen or any other drug price. I just thought I would provide a counter to "social medicine" argument. Anyway, I think this is a cool project and I hope to see the innovative minds on instructables suggest lower cost alternatives.

Nice job! I like how you removed the screws. I noticed in the video that we both have the same issue with grabbing the base while turning the handle which is a little awkward. If I get around to redesigning it, I plan to make it so that the slides don't extend beyond the base during rotation.
