Pedagogy of Partnership is revolutionizing the next generation’s relationship to Torah and to one another. PoP-trained educators help learners from early childhood through adulthood develop new ways of thinking, learning, and talking together. PoP’s proven methods provide students with the skills to listen deeply to others, engage deeply with the text, and respectfully challenge and support one another’s ideas.

Pedagogy of Partnership offers meaningful opportunities for educators to expand and deepen their teaching practice. Our support will help you intentionally design havruta (pairs) and group learning experiences, build students’ critical-thinking skills, and deepen their emotional intelligence.  

While educators traditionally use havruta to teach Jewish content such as Tanakh, Talmud, Jewish history, and halakhah, you can apply the PoP method with the same success to general studies, including poetry and literature, history, math, and art.

Pedagogy of Partnership works with educational leaders of all kinds — from principals and department heads to heads of teaching and learning and teacher leaders. The PoP method helps all of these leaders improve the teaching and learning experience across their institutions.

PoP’s staff work with school leaders to tailor the PoP frameworks and tools to help them meet their particular programmatic goals, address pressing issues, expand their instructional leadership toolbox, and support their educators to implement and continually improve their teaching practices. 

We also help build embedded expertise in using the PoP method within each school’s culture—even beyond the classroom. For example, we work with school leaders to incorporate PoP skills into how they conduct classroom observation, give feedback, and run faculty meetings, informing how faculty and administrators learn from and interact with one another. 

We work with leaders to build a wider school culture of student engagement and buy-in and to integrate partnership learning into milestone events and parent learning opportunities. 

To help leaders achieve their school goals, we provide one-on-one coaching and thought partnership to school leaders; a school leaders’ community of practice; a school leaders’ multi-day training, and resources to help school leaders meet their schools’ core teaching and learning goals.

Family Learning

In a variety of settings, PoP helps children and adults learn to connect and engage joyfully with text together. Parents and children help each other notice details in the text and wonder together about its many meanings. Parents learn new strategies for asking questions and children delight in discovering that their parents can be a fun learning partner! Together, they grow to appreciate each other's perspectives.

PoP supports family learning with an array of programs and materials appropriate for family-based settings:

• Learning sessions for families, such as our PoP-Project Zug sessions for parents
• Devash, Hadar’s weekly parshah (Torah portion) magazine designed for children age 7-11, to be read independently or together with families
• Hadar’s Torah Time, a podcast that helps busy families make quality time for learning the parshah together
• Robust holiday content and activities throughout the year

Adult Learning

PoP-style learning provides adults of all learning backgrounds an opportunity to engage with Torah and big ideas in a sophisticated and joyful way. PoP helps adults make the most of independent, partnership, and group learning: 

• Join PoP for text learning experiences, resources for learning in havruta or small groups, and adult learning programs.
• Invite PoP to lead a Guided Havruta Learning Experience for your community.
• Launch Project Zug in your community with PoP! We will orient your community to learning in havruta and making the most of their engagement with Torah and one another.
