Benny Benassi

Marco "Benny Benassi" Benassi (born 13 July 1967) is an Italian DJ and record producer. He is best known for his 2002 summer club hit "Satisfaction".

Career

Early days

A native of Milan and raised in Reggio Emilia, DJ and producer Benassi, started DJing alongside cousin Alle Benassi in the late 1980 in their hometown, before moving to Larry Pignagnoli's Off Limits production studio in the mid-1990, creating music for various acts, including Whigfield, J.K. and Ally & Jo. In 2001, Benassi, under the name KMC, released his first hit called "I Feel So Fine", with vocals by Dhany. The track first climbed the charts in Benassi's native Italy, and soon became a #1 hit in the UK club charts.

Moving from house to electro, "Satisfaction" took Benassi's success worldwide a year later with high-profile DJs like Carl Cox, Darren Emerson, and Roger Sanchez offering praises. The track reached #2 in the UK Singles Chart after the Ministry of Sound record company replaced the original video (an almost still picture of the band, overlaid with graphics) with a video of models using power tools.

Crash Course

Crash Course (also known as Driving Academy) is a 1988 made for television teen film directed by Oz Scott.

Plot

Crash Course centers on a group of high schoolers in a driver’s education class; many for the second or third time. The recently divorced teacher, super-passive Larry Pearl, is on thin ice with the football fanatic principal, Principal Paulson, who is being pressured by the district superintendent to raise driver’s education completion rates or lose his coveted football program. With this in mind, Principal Paulson and his assistant, with a secret desire for his job, Abner Frasier, hire an outside driver’s education instructor with a very tough reputation, Edna Savage, aka E.W. Savage, who quickly takes control of the class.

The plot focuses mostly on the students and their interactions with their teachers and each other. In the beginning, Rico is the loner with just a few friends, Chadley is the bookish nerd with few friends who longs to be cool and also longs to be a part of Vanessa’s life who is the young, friendly and attractive girl who had to fake her mother’s signature on her driver’s education permission slip. Kichi is the hip-hop Asian kid who often raps what he has to say and constantly flirts with Maria, the rich foreign girl who thinks that the right-of-way on the roadways always goes to (insert awesomely fake foreign Latino accent) “my father’s limo”. Finally you have stereotypical football meathead J.J., who needs to pass his English exam to keep his eligibility and constantly asks out and gets rejected by Alice, the tomboy whose father owns “Santini & Son” Concrete Company. Alice is portrayed as being the “son” her father wanted.

Gary Go

Gary Baker, known by his stage name Gary Go, is an award-winning, multi-platinum-selling songwriter, record producer, composer and multimedia artist.

His debut album "Gary Go" was released in 2009, spawning the hit single "Wonderful". The same year, Lady Gaga referred to Gary Go as "my favourite new artist this year" after performing a rendition of "Just Dance", inspired by his cover of the song.

Gary Go went on to collaborate with electro pioneer and Grammy Award winning DJ Benny Benassi, writing and performing three consecutive #1 club records. The smash club crossover hit "Cinema", rose rapidly to #1 on the US Billboard and UK Club Charts. "Cinema" was awarded a Grammy Award through the remix by electronic music producer Skrillex. Artist and producer Kanye West referred to the track as "one of the greatest works of art ever made".

In 2012, Gary Go released "Now Was Once The Future", a videotape and original soundtrack. The intimate short-film, written and directed by Gary Go, chronicles the end of a relationship and a journey of self-rediscovery.
