Wow! Meditative work for a meditation cushion! Love it! *:-)
Thank you! That’s how the whole idea came out – the process of this kind of weaving is indeed meditative.
I love the sense of tradition you bring to your work. Beautiful!
Thank you very much! I lean on the local tradition with whole my weight, nothing is original in this case.
What an inspiring post – I am glad it is “late” rather than never. I love to see the combining of one traditional technique into different traditional object so I love the last picture! Will the cushion come back to you eventually?
Thanks a lot, Kjerstin! yeah, someday it will come back, next year or so. I have to test-sit it then and see if it holds it’s function!
absolutely beautiful, a slow, careful and meditative work. I always think traditional work stays lively when it is adapted to our time and lifestyle. It will seem all new when it comes back to you.
Thank you, Jean! The whole thing was sort of my hommage to meditation as a life-transforming practice and to this old slow way of weaving. Both processes are very similar in how they feel in the body and mind. I am very thankful for all the people who left us so much beautiful things to be inspired by.
What a perfectly beautiful zabuton. And what a way to honour your meditation practise.
