This work has the potential to change how energy is delivered altering the lives of people globally, especially those in underdeveloped regions of the world which lack the infrastructure for reliable power systems. IEEE has a project under development, IEEE P2030.10™ Standard for DC Microgrids for Rural and Remote Electricity Access Applications, to begin to address this issue.
