Book Layout and Design

STANDARD fiction and prose-style non-fiction text layout - $395.00

This custom text design package combines basic design elements with limited designer contact. This is a very good choice for those who require a little extra hand holding. Made in the USA.

Package includes:

  • Up to 20 minute initial consultation with Graphic Designer to establish general book layout, graphic design and type faces.
  • Email consultation with designer
  • Creation of title page
  • Creation of copyright page
  • Creation of table of contents (if needed)
  • Layout up to 256 formatted pages of text with running heads and folios (page numbers) from your MS Word or WordPerfect document. Text running longer than 256 formatted pages is assessed an additional charge of $75 per 64 pages.
  • One PDF proof for proofreading
  • One round of corrections (up to 25) included. Additional corrections at $1.40 each plus $35 file access fee. This includes a new proof.
  • Final PDF proof for OK prior to sending file to printer
  • Final PDF files for offset or digital printing*

*NOTE: Our Design Service is offered exclusively to author/publishers who print books with Self Publishing, Inc.. No print ready files will be sent to customer until after books are printed. Once books are printed, you can request a copy of the print ready PDF files, created by us for a small fee of $49. Complete application files are also available after books are printed for an additional $149. You can request a copy of your print ready files, prior to the first printing, for an additional $495 per file (so text and cover would be $990.)

This custom text design package works fine for most poetry books. Extra care is taken to make sure line breaks are correct on each poem. Made in the USA.

  • Layout up to 352 formatted pages of text with running heads and folios (page numbers) from your MS Word or WordPerfect document. Text running longer than 352 formatted pages is assessed an additional charge of $75 per 64 pages.
  • Up to 10 photos
  • Up to 6 boxed text inserts per chapter (Sidebar or "call-out" boxes are an additional $5 each)
  • Up to 10 tables
  • Up to 20 bullet lists
