Wittgenstein argues that we are not naturally disposed towards unfriendliness or unsociality; by being speaking beings who create names for the things in our world, we show a predisposition of making something sharable -- language. The thing which separates us, according to Wittgenstein, is when we talk nonsense or mutual unintelligibility. Talking nonsense goes deeper than using a nonsense language, when we speak in nonsense, we are purposefully unintelligible.

Mr Rogers ethics extend to our own neighborhoods through how we welcome others. Rogers believes that we welcome people into the neighborhood as they are, and we like them as they are. We are called to overcome internal biases, to put aside the incidentals that are barriers to liking them. Rogers gives us tools to do so. He believes that discourse, even the offer of it, provides an open ground for individuals to meet and begin the process of welcoming each other.
