Taron David Egerton (Birkenhead, 10 de novembro de 1989) é um ator galês. [2][3] Ele é conhecido pelo seu papel como Dennis na telessérie britânica The Smoke[4] e Gary "Eggsy" Unwin[5] nos filmes Kingsman: Serviço Secreto e Kingsman: O Círculo Dourado. Ele também atuou no filme Testament of Youth, como Edward Brittain e no episódio de duas partes "The Ramblin' Boy" da sétima série de Lewis como Liam Jay. Em 2019, atuou como Elton John no filme biográfico Rocketman.

Egerton nasceu em 10 de novembro de 1989 em Cheshire, Inglaterra. Seu primeiro nome provém de "Taran", que em galês significa "trovão".[2] Criado em Wirral, ele e sua família se mudaram para a ilha galesa de Anglesey e em seguida para Aberystwyth, quando ele tinha doze anos.[6] Ele frequentou a escola Ysgol Penglais. Taron se formou na Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, onde foi graduado com Bachelor of Arts em 2012.
Ele ganhou o Student Performer of the Year na Stephen Sondheim Society em 2011, Taron também foi membro da National Youth Theatre e também frequentou o Aberystwyth Arts Centre antes de avançar para a Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

Taron Egerton fez sua estreia como ator em 2012, atuando como Liam Jay em dois episódios na sétima série de Lewis.[5] Mais tarde, ele foi escalado para a telessérie The Smoke, do canal Sky1.[4]
Taron atuou como Gary 'Eggsy' Unwin, o pupilo de Harry Hart (Colin Firth), no filme Kingsman: The Secret Service, do realizador Matthew Vaughn.[5] Taron também atuou no filme Testament of Youth, que foi baseado na vida de Vera Brittain, que estrelou Alicia Vikander e Kit Harington como protagonistas.[7]
Em 2015, ele foi eleito um dos 50 homens mais bem-vestidos do Reino Unido pela revista GQ.[8]
Em 2016, ele foi indicado ao EE Rising Star Award pelo British Academy of Film and Television Arts (Bafta Awards), único prêmio com voto popular, pelo papel em Kingsman: Serviço Secreto.
