Brianna Westbrook, Democratic candidate in the upcoming special election for Arizona congressional district 8, will be at a meet and greet event in #Anthem Sunday evening.

#AZCD8 goes from Goodyear and Litchfield Park to Anthem and New River and includes significant portions of several west valley citiies.

The special election is to replace congressman Trent Franks after he had to step down due to long-term ethics lapses.

The primary for AZCD8 is February 27th ( registration deadline January 29th ).

The general election for AZCD8 is April 24th ( registration deadline Mrch 26th ).

Rep Don Shooter was expelled today for repeated sexual misconduct from the Arizona House of Representatitives.

His party dominates the chamber and the vote was 56-3-1 to toss him out.

Credit to the #MeToo movement for holding people accountable for their actions.

The event for Rep. David Schweikert has moved from his office to Celebrity Theater as he will be there for a fundraiser with real estate agents.

The lawsuit against the Save Our Schools (SOSAZ) referendum was tossed out due to a lack of standing.

Apparently the lawsuit is dependent on SB 2404, which was not in effect when the SOSAZ petitions were being collected.

Unfortunately the referendum against 2404 was not successful, so future referendums and initiatives have much more stringent rules to overcome and out of state billiionaires will have standing to sue as DeVos and the Koch brothers are trying with the SOSAZ referendum.

Volunteers worked in the heat of the summer and gathered 111,000, well above the required 79,000.

That's 111,000 voters who will likely send Gov Ducey a message about his support for funneling public education funding to private schools.
