What are Porgs?
Porgs love Lightspeed A Lot!

The world has been asking the question that has been on everyone's mind. What or who, are these wonderful looking creatures, that have captured the hearts of millions across the world. Porgs are a sea bird species that lives on the planet Ahch-To, where Jedi Master Luke Skywalker hid in exile. The creatures, who dwelled on the cliffs of the island, can build nests and fly. Male porgs were known to be slightly bigger in size than females. Baby porgs are called porglets. They’re the Star Wars version of puffins, which is a species of bird found in the North Pacific Ocean and in the North Atlantic Ocean. I think a lot of people are going to want a porg as a pet after watching the movie this December. Lucasfilm announced an upcoming kids’ book called, "Chewie and the Porgs." The plot of the book is unknown but not sure if the book will be officially Canon, or just a kids book. The book will be released simultaneously with the move, The last Jedi, on December 15, 2017.

Outfit Ideas Series is for the many Disney Cosplayer Imagineers out there, who are looking for inspiration when making a new design or to create a new version similar to the original. These outfits I showcase are from the actual Disney theme parks we visit. I hope everyone enjoys them.

The word Cosplay, is a portmanteau of the words costume play, it's a performance art in which participants called Cosplayers wear costumes and fashion accessories to represent a specific character. The rapid growth in the number of people Cosplaying as a hobby is huge. The fans have made the phenomenon a significant aspect of pop culture. Many Cosplayers create their own outfits, referencing images of the characters in the process. In the creation of the outfits, much time is given to detail, thus the skill of a Cosplayer may be measured by how difficult the details of the outfit are or how well they have been replicated. The appearance of Cosplayers at public events makes them a popular draw for photographers. As the popularity of Cosplay gets bigger, many conventions have come to feature a contest surrounding Cosplay, as Disney's D23 Expo does.
 
  If meeting characters during your Walt Disney World vacation is important then here are a few tips. Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom & Hollywood Studios each have a plethora of characters to Meet & Greet with. Your task is to select with park you want to tackle first & utilize FastPass+. Visit DisneyWorld.com, find the "Entertainment" section of each park and here you'll see ALL characters with their times for that day. Now for those that do utilize FastPass+, here's where your early planning gets you in quicker then everyone else. With just park tickets you can select FastPass tickets up to 30 days in advance, 60 days for those who booked a Disney hotel/park vacation combo. For those other characters meeting guests in random spots you'll have to grab an "Entertainment Times Guide" along with a park map and find your character in the list. Most likely if he/she is not on the list, they are not at that park. Always ask a Disney Cast Member for more information as they will have a times guide that they keep on them to help you out. Always always always arrive early or during Extra magic Hours for hotel park guests to get in those character lines early. Once in line you will be able to meet them, if a Cast Member cuts off the line you have missed your chance. If you got in then have fun, take a photo, get an autograph and don't forget that hug at the end!

It's a Small World
"It's a small world after all / It's a small world after all / It's a small world after all / It's a small, small world"

The Sherman Brothers wrote It's a Small World (after all) in the wake of the Cuban Missile Crisis which influenced the song's message of peace and brotherhood. When they first presented it to Walt Disney, he requested something more cheerful, so they sped up the tempo and sang in counterpoint. Walt was so delighted with the final result that he renamed the attraction "It's a Small World" after the Sherman Brothers' song. One of my favorite rides.
This wonderful iconic attraction is located at several Disney Park Resorts worldwide. You can find it bringing smiles at the Disneyland Resort in California, the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, and The Tokyo Disneyland Resort. It features 300 audio animatronic dolls in cultures costumes from around the world, singing in unity to the attraction's title song, which promotes global peace.
Now the Disneyland Resort version, in Anaheim, California, was refurbishment and added 37 new Disney characters each in their native land. There's England hosting Alice, the White Rabbit, Peter Pan and Tinkerbell; Cinderella, Jaq, and Gus in France; Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket in Italy; Mulan and Mushu in China; Aladdin, Jasmine and Abu in the Middle East; Simba, Pumbaa, and Timon in Africa; and South America hosting Donald Duck, Jose Carioca, and Panchito Pistoles as the Three Caballeros. The South Seas room features Ariel, Flounder, Dory, Nemo, Lilo, and Stitch. The former New Guinea Room was transformed to North America, adding Woody, Jessie, and Bullseye. Good luck finding them all when visiting Disneyland!
