Audio books won't work unfortunately This app is very appealing for me as someone who loves to read and has a fair amount of free time. Unfortunately I tried the audio book portion of the app that cost $3.99 and everytime I attempt to listen to one the app shuts down. I tried the support option and it read "403 Forbidden". I hope this can be resolved because I really would like to use that feature, especially because I paid for it.

Updated review, 14 May 2017 - still finding awesome books!! So much history! Written before the age of revisionist history! Only free book app I use or need! Would love to be able to organize books or make notes, ie when they were written. But regardless, this is a wonderful app. I have found a number of very old books, some of which I have long wanted to read and now am able to. These are books you would never find in your local library and if you could find them to purchase I am sure they would be very expensive. Thank you Free Books !!
For anyone who is in love with the classics or your being introduced to them for the first time, it's a brilliant way of doing it. And having the audio book option is perfect! I read to my girls everyday from this app. Experts have been saying for years how reading the classics improve cognitive thinking in youth and I'm so glad they have created an app to make it possible.

One of the best apps for bookworms on the go. Well-organised, lots of great and easily available books, and it works flawlessly. I'd be even happier if it had less ads, or a way for me to organise my downloaded books, but I really have no other complaints. I'll never get bored in the doctor's waiting room again.

Minimalistic yet functional, it would be nice if one could arrange one's books in a desired order, but that's no big deal. It does just about everything else I want it to do. The selection is good, mostly public domain stuff posted to the Internet, lot of familiar classics and some delightfully strange obscure works. I hope that more will be added to the selection. The ads are annoying, but are a necessary evil, since they fund the free app. One can always escape them by reading offline. Overall, a great app. I really enjoy it.

Good reads! I love the books available in here- most of them are actually readings in school! Also, I love the fact that you can read offline (those that you've downloaded when you were online)! Good job on that, however the ads can be so annoying, popping out every now and then. Nevertheless, I still recommend this app, especially for readers. 👍

I like reading books im a author of one book i have more but something is tapping and hacking my data im trying to reach the government on this issue this is a great free app. Keep up the good free books i will read when i get jayz off my tapped phone he stole my book and will not pay me from the library of Congress.can you send me a lawer for help he got dirty money in Chattanooga Tennessee p.s the book is called as a child. He steal from Google too data and passwords
Though it has errors Some books translations aren't that good, but good enough to read, and others have the translator notes mix with the real content so it's hard to know what is what. Some books don't have sipnosis I can only now the main genre. But anyway they have good books and are free to read, doesn't use so much space and don't have to download to the mobile but still can read with no connection! That I found it great.
Free books! Nice selection. A few technical issues like the page doesn't center so i have to hold it. And I miss the immediate definition that I get with other e-readers. But come on- free books!
I tried hitting the suport entry under menus and "Explicit Porn Videos" Come up everytime. This has never happened before. Why is this happening now. My Child could have been using my phone. You need to do something about that... ASAP... Very Offensive. Make It Stop!!!
I'm trying to complete the "Rory Gilmore Reading Challenge" and this has every classic book on the list and so many more I use the audio book feature and I absolutely love it. I have already recommended it to some people who have to read a book for school!
Eclectic Reading Choices There is much more to this collection than classic fiction. The collection contains fiction and nonfiction that went out of copyright prior to the early fifties. Unlike Gutenberg the books are carefully edited and come with beautiful covers. A terrific treasure trove for the desktop.
I'd give it a better Rating, but there is two copies of The Return of Sherlock Holmes, and NO copy of The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes. I have The complete Sherlock Holmes book, but it is over 1000 pages and rather bulky to take around with me, when I'm out places, and was hoping to find the full set here.
So far so good! All free classics. It's like a public library in your phone. You're not going to find James Patterson or anything, but everything you were supposed to read in school is here. Only complaint is the ads. I don't want to be in the middle of a book and be interrupted by a big, ugly pop-up that I have to close out of to keep reading.
Given its length, It's hard to read books such as Don Quixote on this App. I wish we could have a table of contents where I can just click on a specific chapter or page and be redirected to it instead of swiping 1000 before getting to page 1! Also integrate a dictionary or allow copying of words. You have classics but I don't see George Orwell!!! Please add his essays. Lastly, I don't see any African or Caribbean Literature!! Good App but the glass is half empty too.

Don't like it They have an option to purchase audiobooks. Well I purchased that functionality, but whenever I try to access the audiobooks, the damn app crashes. I tried contacting support from within the app, I received an error message. I have thrown away my 4 bucks.i could have used Papa johns' 50% off
I enjoy this app very much. I enjoy reading and the selections keep me wanting to read more. I use this app a lot. Definitely worth installing. Best part that it's free. Saving a lot of money to . Don't have to buy the book just read it from your phone or Kindle it awesome.
Free Books I like reading on the bus without having to handle a bulky book. It's great to be able to read old favorites, and books I wouldn't be able to find in a bookstore. Two big thumbs up.
Some books are missing passages and in some cases entire chapters. Not always evident until you're deep into the book. Example: "Frankenstein. " Only good if you also have a print copy to fill in the gaps.
Overall there are some really good selections, such as Mark Twain and Shakespeare novels if you haven't already read them or need it for high school ELA. There are some prominent figures missing, Harper Lee and George Orwell being just two of many. Disappointed to not see To Kill A Mockingbird or Animal Farm on here, I'd love to see them added later.
Great way to revisit books I had to read for school that I can now read got fun. Too many typos and other errors in the transition from print to digital media keeps it a 4 star instead of 5.
There's nothing here you couldn't download from Gutenberg, but the fact that the app is designed for phones means the texts are readable, in a good font size, with no formatting problems. Excellent idea, and we can forgive the ads - you have to make a living, right?
Army Letters from an Officer's Wife 1871 - 1888 Delightful intimate accounts of a young soldier's wife following her husband from camp to camp. We share her fear of the hostile tribes, revengeful desperadoes, jailbreak murderers, the harsh environment; her anxieties over the visit by her mother-in-law, the sudden orders to uproot and move yet again, her delight at the army dance which transforms the grey barrack into a glittering palace, with girls in gorgeous dresses on the arms of men in blue and gold uniform. We admire her pluck and her love of life.
I had my doubts about what books would be available but I have been amazed at the quantity, as well as the quality, of the titles. And of course the price is perfect...free is always my favorite price!
Just Wow I'm really amazed by the way how fast and easier I can download books and lots......... of books. Best app for readers 😊but just one problem of adds 😕 I wish they could be removed.
No modern books! No ads which is great but no modern books. 4 stars though for at least the access to good old books like Oliver Twist, Pride and Prejudice, etc.
Very Good Selection I would like to see more books added as well as a way to search for specific text within the pages themselves. Also, would rate it higher if these additions were included. Overall this is one of the better free apps for dealing with books that I have seen so far.
Not nice technology Doesn't have modern collection and any search app!I saw the reviews and downloaded it as I thought the reviews are not bad but I see its not fit for teens like me!!
What an awesome and easy to use e-book reader. No bugs and never freezes, it has an attractive e-reader, I bought the audio book add on and it was worth it! Update, I'm editing my comments almost a year later and still, love this app and recommend it.

The Free Books TEAM Classics and pulp Whatever your taste, there's something in this collection for you. I've found novels on this app which I'd never have otherwise read, but thoroughly enjoyed.
So far I can see that this is an excellent app, with lots more to discover. However, i would like an option whereby a small fee could be paid for the removal of intrusive adverts.
DIS-APP-OINTED 👓 I'm giving this app 3☆ "it's just ok" as so many free books apps out there (tried,yawned and deleted) lacks in recent years novels (1990 and up PLEASE).Classics are there...as they are everywhere ☹ However app is simple to navigate,and bookmark.But again,it's the norm.PLEASE ADD RECENT BOOK SELECTION!!! DARE to be A CUT ABOVE! Stand out a little for your stars!!! ☻ Hoping to have "something better" than 3☆ in the future...

The Free Books TEAM A wonderful little app that delivers all that it promises. Easy to use, glitch free, lightning fast downloads, the ads are not all that frequent or annoying, and the texts selected are generally error free.
I like it. A lot of categories and books that I have never had a chance to read. I haven't come across more recent novels yet however I haven't fully explored the app yet as well.
Truly one of the top apps on Google play! It really is. I say if you haven't downloaded it yet and started reading the classic literature in this app you should now!
