This isn't even a good app any more because of their rubbish UI changes. Edit:huh in that case it's Google thats stupid. The app is good but it still needs lots of improvements.

Dear Clarke, thank you for the review. I am sorry for the change, but the change in look is part of our constant development of the app. Partially to keep the design fresh, but also to make sure we adhere to Google's Material Design standards. Good for many things, but, at least on my Samsung S6, it won't open PDFs, and I can't find a way to make it not my default app. That means I can't open articles for my grad work on my phone. That is not acceptable. Please help.
I dont think you should have to buy the popular ebooks to read them, and making an account? I never read anything about that, this is ok but it also doesnt habe things litlke the harry potter series etc, and if it did, isnt by Jk rowling like the original series.
I've been using this app for a few years, but now new uploads no longer show book covers. I will switch to another app if this does not get resolved ASAP.
I've used many reading apps, but this one is definitely my favorite!
First I thought it will be as usual as other bad apps,but after downloading it,only I came to know that it is ''Awesome ''
Great reader, only one I could get to load a book I had when not even Google Play would upload it. Great interface and simplicity. Wouldn't mind some more font options but overall the lack doesn't bring down my opinion on the reader.
So frustrating. App seems to lose my place in book each time it is closed. Defaults back to the same place each time. Not to mention the crappy DRM on PCs. Abobe are terrible at DRM. Release a HTML5 reader like Amazon. So feed up with this reader in going to have to strip the DRM so I can read it the Kindle app. Sigh

We would be happy to help resolve the issue. We do have an online reader available for books purchased from eBooks.com I wrote in early july and still no answer. I had a book which suddenly wouldn't open anymore. I tried downloading it again. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Now the book is readable but cannot hild my place and doesn't have working links to move around the book. I've tried emailing you and now try resorting to public shaming, but apparently to no avail. I've bought a few dozen books from you - but not lately. Any chance of getting some service???

Dear Stan, I have checked our support system and the last correspondence we had the issue was resolved. I am sorry I was not aware there was an ongoing issue. I have contacted you directly via our support system to discuss it further. Please do use our support system if you have an issue. Google Play reviews are monitored but not as frequently. Nice simple epub reader. The app has improved a lot since the earlier versions and it's rare to have a problem with it now. Easy integration with their store means you'll find and download virtually any book, almost too easy, I've spent hundreds of euros on ebooks.
I'm so disappointed. I have over a hundred books in my sd card but this app only synced 9 books and it keeps freezing every time I try to manually add the book I want to start reading :(. Instant uninstall.
the new update killed the beauty in this app, background whie no customization, keeps making the book sorting on its default forgetting my preferrence, the night mood is hidden I have 2 search 4 it. this is not an update, it is down all the way, I hate it.

I will talk to our developers about retaining your sort preference. Every time I exit app it goes back to the beginning of book. This super annoying. Every so often text is selected and won't allow me to deselect it without exiting app so I end up at the beginning again. This app used to be great no so any more.
The app is nice, when it works however after some time it cannot open my book anymore. After some investigation it seems that my book has been deleted from the SD card. I did re-save, re-add and after a while book is gone again. Also it seems reload / shiver same page every few minutes ( Samsung S7 ), that is annoying too. Too frustrating...
Been using it for a long time. The wooden bookshelf skin was better. Now it just feels clinical. Please bring it back or at least add an option to change the entire theme of the app. More customization options needed. Edit: Looking forward to the update with alternative wooden bookshelf theme.

Dear Kiran, thank you for the review. I have passed your suggestion on to our developers. We may be able to bring the old style as an alternate theme. But it would require some work first to fit the new design. It was a good reader before the update. I usually read PDF and some of the books i download cannot be opened by this reader, while other pdf readers have no trouble opening them. There were 3 - 5 books like that in total but after the update literally half of the healthy PDF files cant be opened. And the design looks so half assed why bother.

We would be happy to help resolve the issue. This is the worse app I've ever used every time i want to go back to reading i have to spend 15 minutes looking for where i left off. The low price of the books is just not worth the irritation
Unsuitable for big book collections. The app cannot scan directories for books and import them automatically, instead each file has to be selected by hand. This makes it very tedious to import collections that include many subdirectories. It is unclear what the app means with "download" to import books. After all those files are already downloaded.
