Those we rescue at sea have names, faces, families, friends, dreams, strengths & flaws. They're more than numbers & the has to do more.

For it doesn't matter which country our rescued people are coming from, how old they are or what their gender is. All are in boats in distress and need to be rescued and have access to medical care. No one should be left to die at sea.

The forced end to the ’ operations comes at a critical time. Around 2,133 people have died in the in 2018, departures from account for the majority of deaths. Today, there are no dedicated rescue boats operating in the Central Med.

Nothing can justify the pain inflicted on the men, women and children trapped on . We call on the government to immediately evacuate all and asylum seekers from Nauru and end its policy of "offshore processing".
