We know leaders are going to be discussing Hong Kong with President Xi, but they must also press China on the grave situation in Xinjiang, where up to one million predominantly Muslim people are arbitrarily detained. They must give the UN access.

Beijing may not want Hong Kong to be on the agenda at the , but there is no ignoring this amazing show of people power in the face of a powerful and repressive government. There are many more human rights issues we can't afford to let leaders ignore.

Sri Lankan President wants to bring back the death penalty in Sri Lanka. I hope he takes a cue from the Maldives president and decides otherwise. Executions can be devastating and are never the solution. The wonderful people of Sri Lanka deserve better than this.

If you are horrified by the tragic images from the Rio Grande and the recent deaths of migrants in the desert, you are not alone. These deaths are the result of Trump Admin policies that deny families their legal right to seek asylum and force them into desperate circumstances.

Amazing news from Denmark: The new government confirms it will become the 10th country in Europe to recognize in law that sex without consent is rape. This hard-won victory is thanks to the determination of campaigners & activists.

Good news: Spain's Supreme Court convicted the "Wolf Pack" five for rape. But the long journey to have this crime recognised for what it shows we need a change. will keep campaigning until the law recognises that sex without consent is rape.

An incredible victory today for our campaign w/ : This is the first time that a UK court has acknowledged the risks of providing Saudi Arabia arms for use in Yemen. And just as crucially, this offers a ray of hope for the people of Yemen. We must stop the bloodshed.
