This is amazing news. Great job for drawing attention to this issue. And thank you to the thousands of people who emailed Congress to speak out against this plan. Now let’s make tax filing free.

We joined more than 40 groups to send House lawmakers a letter demanding provisions to ban transfer, sale, or export of defense materials that would be used in the war in Yemen, and end all US aid to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in the war

This is an extremely important and welcome development. It’s time for Facebook, Google, and Amazon to answer tough questions under oath.

We'd like to stay on the SEC. His term expires next week but the law allows him to stay until the end of 2020. It's urgent he does so - here's why.

We’re ok. We continue to believe the needs to break up Facebook - their dominance of online ads, fact that they bought out their competition, create systemic conditions that enable them to do things like accelerate the spread of fake videos in order to feed the algorithm

Speaker Pelosi is making a crucial point here. These videos go viral *because* of Facebook. They are an accelerant - or as Pelosi put it, "willing enablers." Their ad algorithm model is responsible for this stuff getting widely seen. Their profits depend on content like this.

These are important findings - read the whole thread about how Google and Facebook deadlocked the FEC ahead of the critical 2016 election - it goes right to the heart of the issue of their structural power.

We need to put $2B into the FAA and fire the leadership of Boeing. I mean this purely as a business decision. How many people trust flying on the 737 Max?

Very interesting opinion piece by . Facebook degraded privacy as it got dominant in the market for social networks. Sure, there are other problems too-but how can one separate competition from privacy? Why Privacy Is an Antitrust Issue

The problem with the fake Pelosi video isn't the fakeness, it's that FB algorithm probably recommended it hundreds of millions of times so that FB could profit off of advertising. The business model drives lies because lies are cheap to produce. No more ads, no more problem.

Ever since the Bush Admin, Patriot Act, & creation of Dept. Homeland Security, the dangerous erosion of American civil liberties has worsened. We’re melting away our Constitutional rights - all for the excuse of hating immigrants. We’re shredding what it means to be American.⬇️
