I not here to judge if Catalan independence efforts were constitutional or if Puigdemont is brave. But it’s a broadly held opinion of non-Spaniards that peaceful politicians & activists shouldn’t be in jail. That is what makes Puigdemont a dissident, and that is why he’s in exile
