. is totally right. To me, as a former Detroit Health Commish, caring about climate change isn’t “elitist.” It’s about kids who suffer asthma because of the pollution of an oil refinery next door. Tell ‘em, sister.

ONE out of every THREE Americans ration their medication because of the cost. How is this normal in America? No one should have to choose between their medication and their rent.

Teachers in America make 20% less than comparable jobs. That stat is bad alone — but it's even worse when you realize that's the LARGEST teacher pay gap in the developed world. We're shortchanging our teachers in this country. And we’re shortchanging our kids.

Like many other women + working people, I occasionally suffer from impostor syndrome: those small moments, especially on hard days, where you wonder if the haters are right. But then they do things like this to clear it right up. If this guy can be Senator, you can do anything.

Gun violence doesn't end when the last shot is fired or when the cameras go away. PTSD violates victims long after a tragedy. We see some of the victims, but we miss those who are left to pick up the pieces. Sensible gun reform is about protecting ALL of them.

No community has faced more discrimination in this country than African Americans. That’s why we need to form a commission that studies the legacy of slavery and structural inequality to come up with solutions that account for these grave injustices.

Problem: At its core, voter registration is a hurdle meant to suppress votes. Solution: Every voting eligible American should be automatically registered to vote.

It’s kind of funny that reforming our democracy so that the candidate who gets the most votes wins the election has become a “radical” idea. Electoral college isn’t doing that. Maybe we should fix it?

Our gov spends billions subsidizing foreign militaries in repressive countries like Egypt, Israel, & Saudi Arabia. What if we spent that money to care for ppl affected by natural disasters on the rise due to , like victims of in Zimbabwe or Mozambique?

People always ask why I’m so adamant about . It’s this: Healthcare companies are PROFIT driven — not health driven. They don’t care about you or me, but how we can be used for their bottom line. Any system that puts their profit over our health will fail us.
