Planner Spread by Kristin
Hi there, Kristin here with a January kit planner spread to share with you.
I love using flat stickers, labels, and washi tape in my planner. The bright colors in this month's kit were especially awesome for the dreary winter days. I love opening my planner to pops of color.
Don't forget to pop by for our reveal tomorrow at noon MST! Today's also the last day to enter to win a February kit (Click here!).
XO,
Kristin
Day in the Life Layout by Megan
Megan here. I love documenting a Day in the Life™ inspired by Ali Edwards, once a month. This year I'm recording details of my day each month on the first! This month we happened to go on an overnight trip to St Louis on the first, so I made two spreads instead of one to accommodate the extra photos.

I was really excited about the rubber 2017 banner in the Freckled Fawn January 2017 Planner Kit, so I based my page design around the kit, including a supporting role for Fresh Start Journaling Cards. The kit plus a few patterned papers cut down to 4×6 from my stash were all I needed for these two spreads.

On the right page, I wanted the 2017 banner to really shine, so I put it on a neutral colored background. I usually add dates to this spot as a title card, but instead I used the January card and noted the date and that this spread is for Day in the Life.

In the empty space on one of the photos, I added a clip from the planner kit with the word “love” on it. I liked the way it looked better floating there than clipped on, so I attached it with a couple of glue dots. This is a great way to embellish photo-heavy pages!

The right page on this spread has a few photos from the Science Center and tons of journaling! I wrote down times and details in the Notes app on my phone throughout the day to make it easier to remember. It was a quick way to document during the few bits of down time I had, since our day was so busy.

I loved the cute paper stickers that came with this kit–planner stickers don’t just have to work for planners, they are great for other scrapping projects too, especially when you are documenting everyday routines. I used the stickers as support for the journaling–coffee for when I was getting ready in the morning, the house when we were leaving home, fork and spoon for grabbing breakfast, the phone for a phone call with my mom, etc. I think it’s a cute way to add some movement to a word-heavy page.
To give myself extra journaling room, I added white cardstock to the middle of the hearts card to transform it from a filler to a journaling card.

I thought this page would need a little white space, so I added the “smile” journaling card to a 4×6 patterned paper that matched. I used the super cute felt ribbon across the bottom, attaching it with staples.
It’s hard to see the black foam word “amazing” in this photo, but it looks great in person.

I made the second spread more simple, thinking of it as kind of a supporting role for the first page. I kept up with my journaling + planner paper stickers to visually tie this page to the first spread.

The planner kit was a perfect fit for documenting the day! If you do a routine recording project or everyday documenting, the planner kit is a great option.

Documenting this day was a fun way to kick off my Day in the Life for 2017! Is anyone else joining in with Day in the Life once a month? You can also join in with the ones Ali Edwards schedules a few times a year if once a month is too much for you! I'd love to hear about your DITL experiences.
