Russia has deployed a ground-based cruise missile in violation of a Cold War era treaty, US officials have told reporters. The SSC-8 missile has reportedly been in development for many years. "The issue now is the things are deployed and it's an even greater violation of the INF treaty [the 1987 Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty]," an unnamed US official told Reuters. Russia has previously denied violating the treaty.
