EU to hand out money to migrants in Turkey

The European Commission has launched a €348 million plan to provide migrants living in Turkey with money, via an electronic card, to pay for food, housing and other essentials. The plan is open to Syrians and non-Syrians, whether they are registered as refugees or not, and will be implemented by the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP). The commission said it hoped to help 1 million people.
