Snicker Saturday

We took a local road trip on Monday December 3rd,
starting on  next week I will tell you about it  on Tuesday and  Nature Friday

We saw this sign as we approached our main destination.
Thankfully we were both on dry land...and NO WORRIES neither of us
will disturb.  Monday it was 69 degrees and surely the snakes could have been slithering about
However, neither of us would have known if we saw it.

I'm here to serve and inform so here is a little bit about it.
Thankfully it is NONVENOMOUS; however, just seeing it would have made me
faint!!

Garfield is a hero to all Felines!!

Nature Friday and Feline Friday

They are our host for
On Tuesday, November 27, 2018 I promised the rest of the wonderful out of doors
photos I took at  the Angus Barn....here we go.

It was about 4 pm when we left the Angus Barn to walk down toward the lake.
We were greeting by shadows, reflections and a water fountain in the lake

Courtyard overlooking the lake...I can just imagine beautiful tables set up for a celebration here.

 Mother Nature at her finest!!
Sun on this lovely grove of hardwoods and pines

Water tower on the grounds.  Look at all those antennas

As we walked around, the sun teased us by peeping thru the trees reflecting on the lake

For whom the dinner bells tolls...Me I hope!!

The love between my grandcats is obvious!!
FYI:  Mia only weighs about 8 lbs...so she is not smothering
her BIG (14lb) Brudder.

Thoroughly Poetic Pictorial Thursday

Today we join Two  SPOILED CATS
Angel Sammy and Teddy for their poetic pictorial poem.

Here is today's inspiration

Up up and away

Up high where the birds can't fly,
As the clouds float by...
slowly to the side they reveal
a palace where the fairies hide.
All are welcomed to join in on the fun.
Be warned there are rules by which you must abide.
Fairies are fanciful and full of fun
but breaking a rule will send you on the run.

Secret Lives of Letters C and D

November Reader's Digest and I happened upon this article,
"The Secret Lives of Letters", by Brooke Nelson.  Mr. Nelson says letters may be small characters, but there are amazing stories behind all 26 alphabet all-stars.
A and B can be found by clicking here
I will be sharing all 26 stories with you on Wednesdays.

In honor of one of today's letter C I'm posting a photo of my most yummy
Christmas Collards. I realize collards are an acquired taste and many don't like the lovely aroma they put off when cooking but I was raised on them.  Their aroma tickles my nose and makes my
mouth water.  They are now in the freezer awaiting Christmas Day.

Tuesday Knot Tale

I used to be a frayed knot but now I am

NOT

About 87 years ago, (I'm older than dirt) I took a macrame class and loved it. Obviously I was a sailor in another life.  I had no idea I could tie knots.  The owl has been hanging on the inside of the guest room closet for years.  While looking thru Christmas decorations last week, I discovered the wreath.
Both are entirely made up of knots with fraying.
The owls eyes and nose are wooden beads.  I also made a ghost.
I'm still looking for that.  Of course you'll see it should I find it.
Hugs Cecilia

PSA
Tis the time of the year for the collards to be bought, cleaned, picked and cooked, cooled then frozen until  Christmas.
We bought 3 lbs of Cabbage Collards at our Farmer's Market yesterday. Today  is cooking day.
You might see pictures  of all of the above in the near future.
