The Benjamin Kane Gupta Fellowship provides an opportunity for graduate students from accredited higher education institutions to apply skills learned in the classroom to international public- private partnership creation and management in the Secretary’s Office of Global Partnerships at the U.S. Department of State. The fellowship will give fellows exposure to public-private partnership building at the U.S. Department of State with innovative businesses, governments, and civil society through research and program development. The fellowship is offered for both summer and semester-long cohorts throughout the year. The fellowship will provide a stipend to support a part-time schedule of 24-40 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters; and a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week for the summer semester. The Gupta Fellowship is a partnership between the U.S. Department of State and The George Washington University School of Business (GWSB).
Eligibility Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship
- A full or part-time continuing Masters student in an accredited MBA or related Master’s program including Masters in International Affairs, International Policy, or International Economics
- A continuing student. This means that you will be returning to your course of study the semester/quarter immediately following the completion of your fellowship
- Strong academic achievement
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Leadership experience and potential
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance by the U.S. Department of State
- If selected for a fellowship, you must provide proof of student status in the form of an official or unofficial transcript
To Apply
The fellowship is offered for both summer and semester-long cohorts throughout the year. The fellowship will provide a stipend to support a part-time schedule of 24-40 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters; and a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week for the summer semester. Depending on the university where they are enrolled, Gupta Fellows may be eligible to obtain academic credit for the fellowship in accordance with the guidelines of the Gupta Fellows respective institutions.
