My mama’s peach cobbler
August 8, 2007

I’ve always said that if I ever end up on death row, my last meal would be my mom’s peach cobbler.
This amazing dessert is so easy to make, and I admit (with embarrassment) that it didn’t last 2 days.
Pour 2 large cans (28 oz.?) of peaches in a 9×12 pan (I didn’t drain them; next time I will). Add 2 small cans (the little baby cans) of pineapple juice.
Next, a nice sprinkling of cinnamon over the peach mixture.
On top of that, sprinkle yellow cake mix (just the dry cake mix, nothing else). Pour over 2 sticks of melted butter and mix slightly.
Leave some of the cake mix crust dry, that’s the way my mom did it.
Hello Jello Creme Brulee
August 3, 2007

I wanted something sweet tonight.
I needed something sweet tonight.
But what was I to do with a box of instant Jello pudding (Cheesecake flavor; it was bought by accident years ago) and a blow torch?
Kickstand creme brulee!
I made the Jello and allowed it to set. I found a lonely packet of Sugar In The Raw and sprinkled the tiny brown crystal shards over the quivering surface.
One packet wasn’t enough, so I added some plain white sugar and SCORCH!
This was surprisingly delicious. Serve it at the next cocktail party in the trailer park.
