TI features kingdom news, a humor column, war reports, museums exhibits of interest, medieval destinations, book reviews, and listings of major SCA events. Article topics cover how to thrive in the SCA, as well as works of research on pre-seventeenth-century Western culture.

Order of Defense Survey

Unto all members of the Order of Defense, greetings!

You are invited to contribute to our next survey. Please send your responses to the following questions to [email protected] by Friday, August 26 and they may be included in the 4th Quarter 2016 issue of Tournaments Illuminated.

Were you ever a cadet or a student? If so, whose?
When and in what kingdom were you elevated?
What did it mean to join the Order?
What was the highlight of your elevation?
Did you bring your interest in rapier fence with you into the SCA, or did it develop after you joined?
Do you or have you ever also participated in armored combat in the SCA?
If you could go back in time and tell your non-peer self one thing, what would it be?
Do you find that your membership in the Order has a bearing on your modern life?
