All German #FWW casualties found in Flanders will be buried in the Kameradengrab at Langemark. This usually happens with a small ceremony and moreover they will wait until several soldiers are recovered so that they can be buried all together.

...it’s more difficult. If the remains were not found in a context that can undoubtedly be interpreted as a grave, it is indeed impossible to determine the origin of the remains (dead or wounded). Nevertheless they will be treated as casualties...3/4

...even if they were found in an area where the probability of Belgian missing is small/non-existent. Those cases are easy because there’s no need for further investigation. When limbs (or other body parts) are found in a context with clear evidence to determine nationality...2/4

The #FWW battlefields in Flanders are littered with human remains, very often only bits and pieces. If we can't find any conclusive evidence to determine nationality, they will be considered as Belgians and will be buried in the crypt at Houthulst Military Cemetery...1/4
