trashy

I'm happy to report that r/trashy is a growing and thriving community and it wouldn't be thriving without you. With the growth we hit the front page a little more often and it brings in some new folks who are browsing for the first time. With that in mind I'd like to just take a moment and let everyone coming in for the first time know a few things.

/r/trashy is a celebration of trash: people, things, media, etc. that boldly and shamelessly violates social conventions and cultural norms. Satisfy our voyeuristic drives by sharing trashy images, videos, stories, and fashion. All forms of trash are eagerly welcomed.

First, please don't report everything you see as "people being judgmental." We expect that the content is going to be unflattering to the subjects. But if they didn't want to be judged they shouldn't have been trashy where someone could see it. If laughing at trashy people upsets you then you probably are in the wrong sub.

Second, your should consider everything here to be NSFW and use your own judgment when viewing this sub at work or in front of your kids or Bible study group or whatever. If you don't want to get fired because your boss caught you watching security video of some dude taking a dump in the supermarket freezer section then don't view this sub at work. We aren't going to sanitize it for you. We do expect nudity and sexually suggestive content to be flaired by the submitter and we will mock you if we have to do it for you. Porn is not allowed except under extremely trashy circumstances. No gore ever.

Finally, we are removing a lot of low effort content without comment. Low effort stuff is:

• Anything that has visible personal information, including user names, family names, phone numbers and license plates.

• Most bumper stickers and car window decals.

• Text only social media posts that do not have comments visible in the screenshot.

• Memes, including social media posts that are just someone sharing a meme. If it's a social media post sharing a meme it needs to have context or comments in the image itself.

• Links to social media profiles or links to other subreddits, this includes screenshots of reddit comments that identify the users and/or subreddit. We don't need to send a witch hunt after people.

• Post titles that don't describe the image. "Stay classy," "found this gem," "found on social media site," "why???" and emojis as titles are low effort and may be removed. Please put some thought into it. If something is really trashy we may flair the submission and not remove it, but we would like you to at least try.

• Reposts.
