Kills battery App works well. Quality is cool but when its not being used it destroys battery life. Since ive downloaded it my battery drains much faster. I went out at 52% last night around 830...put in power saver mode and cleared all apps...was at 3% by 1130. Never had this problem before. The app itself is so easy to use and setup though

Don't look any further I've had Windows Phone for the last few years and used Skype. I thought the pixelated image quality and dropped sound was how it was. Then I crossed over to Android and tried Duo. What an incredible jump in quality. I'm now able to see the other side of the conversation as crystal clear image with clear crisp sound. This is it for video calls, download and look no further. 5/5

Works PERFECTLY way better than even FaceTime for iOS! This app is fast and smooth! Video and voice are both extremely clear thanks to Google intelligently tweeking the app to dynamically change its video quality depending on the internet/data signal thru out the entire video session. So if it senses a weak signal, it will prioritize voice and lower the video quality so you can still get the best possible sound and the smoothest possible video. How clever. All other video messaging apps (even FaceTime) just gets distorted w/no video and drop calls.

Decent app for Phones only Good app. But only works with phones. Redundant since Hangouts already does video on Android and iOS. Might be good if iPhone users can be convinced to install. Can only be used for one-to-one video calls. Cant be used on a pc or wifi tablet. Hangouts is better - texting, messaging and video calling all in one app, tied to a Gmail acct.

This is AWESOME!!! My 10 year old daughter just recently moved 3 hours away and this app has been a lifesaver. Video and sound quality are second to none and the user interface is very simple. Fantastic job Google! You knocked it out of the park with this one.

I wished more people used this Combine with Allo? Please? And promote more! Tell your friends, family and strangers. Doesn't it work well on spotty connections? If it's truly amazing simple video app, it should just be integrated into Allo. But yeah yeah, we know Google doesn't do integration. Sigh.

FaceTime quality Skype usability Quality is excellent but dependent on the signal, of course. As simple to use as FaceTime but works on iOS as well as Android. Only wish it worked on older Android platforms since family over seas use a 4.4 tablet. Also noticed that it gave precedence to voice when you have a weak signal, which was great to at least keep the conversation going while trying to find a better signal.

Great potential There is such a thing as too simple. This interface is a prime example of how over simplifying something can make it look completely unfinished and unprofessional. Constantly freezes or fails to connect, and video quality is horrible on full LTE connection. Try Skype instead.

Extremely easy to use and intuitive! I love how you don't need a Google Account to use this app. All you need is your phone number it works great on iOS and Android. The knock knock feature is really fun too when I call my Android friends.

App is good but a little glitchy I'm using a Samsung S6 Edge and sometimes the sound from my mic doesn't send from my phone to the other line. Solution for now is to terminate program and then boot back up. It fixes it every time but it would be nice not to have that glitch.

Almost perfect Very good compression algorithm and the video and audio quality is very good even over mobile networks. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stats is that it doesn't yet have multiple people calls, and Hangouts has that built in.

Easy and fast Very easy to setup and faster video than a Hangouts call but doesn't offer many settings for configuration options. I did not see much advantage of using this over Hangouts mainly because it requires opening up a separate application end scrolling through contacts to select someone to call is tedious

UI problem Seriously needs to overhaul the user interface. The contact list is a mess with not a clear mention as to who is using duo. Doesn't work properly in the UAE(Dubai).

Slow camera I just got my new OnePlus 3T and was excited to use this app to call my friends. But after being in the call for a few minutes the camera started stuttering and being slow. Shutter speed went down whilst ISO skyrocketed.

Good quality video calls with occasional glitch Good quality video calls. Just occasional problems with retaining contacts. Even if the other party has duo, the app sometimes isn't able to detect it so when u try to call, it asks u to send a link for them to install it instead.

Meh Lacks a ton of basic features, is tethered to your phone only, and the image shown is tiny for some reason. Underlying tech is good, but launch is premature. Good luck convincing anyone else to use it.

Good but with annoyances Good video and audio quality but has some flaws. The biggest flavors the damn buttons that won't go off the screen. This means a good chunk of the screen is hidden by the various buttons for operating the interface. Most other programs hide these of you tap on the screen. Also has color correction issues, every now and then it will decide I should look like Shrek and make me look green to my friends, though it looks fine on my end.

Fantastic!!! Very nice app to keep in touch with people across different platforms. Very good audio and video quality. Only thing I would like to see changed would be how it shows my video; I never know what is in the frame!

It never rings when I'm called Would be nice if it rang. Doesn't ring for my GF either. You have to have the app open for it to go though. Makes it pointless IMO.

Great job Google Finally a good service to video chat on Android. Smooth, not glitchy at all. Only issue is a bit of an echo since recent. Not sure what that's about but amazing in lieu of that

Best Video app I use this app to call others on Android and Apple. This is the best app I have used for video calls. Wish you could have texting in the same app like hangouts. Wonder why Google just never improved video in Hangouts.

Better than skype I've used Skype for years now suffering with its poor video quality. After using Duo, I couldn't believe the video and audio quality - much better than Skype! Way to go Google! 🤗

Fantastic! I have a Moto Z Force and the wife has an iPhone 6s and it's b-e-a-utiful quality! I think better than what I've seen of FaceTime. Google knocked it out of the park on this app!!!

Sound quality earlier was really good. With the New updates it's got worst, too much of echoing. Same handset diff app can hear the person clearly. Please fix that

Low bandwidth, no problem We use this to communicate back and forth in a third world country with low bandwidth. It has been working flawlessly so far, with a surprisingly clear picture.

Not bad but needs to improve further Coming from iOS I was very worried about having to give up Facetime. Duo is a decent replacement even though it cannot yet match Facetime is both quality and ease of use. The call quality is surprisingly good though. When you have a good wi-fi or LTE connection it is often similar add Facetime. One big problem is that on iOS an incoming call is difficult to answer. The VoIP API that Apple introduced to give 3rd party apps the ability to behave like Facetime or the Apple dialer just doesn't work.

Crap! Would be great if this was a functional app. Terrible voice and video quality even with the presence of high speed WiFi and full signal, plus the issue of calls disconnecting every few minutes is awful. Was an amazing app when it was newly released, now it's worse than Skype.

I like the minimalism but I wish I could use it from my laptop. The appeal is that it's analogous to FaceTime but I don't want to have to tell my grandma to install hangouts for when I want to call her from my laptop and God forbid I use Skype.

A less convenient version of Hangouts Like Hangouts video calling, but without group calls or a desktop client. I wish Google would just fix that app instead of making tons of other apps. Good if the person you want to call doesn't have a Google account.

Google duo I love this app. I love the knock knock feature and the overall simplicity of the app, as it's not cluttered and has a clean interface. Having said that once Android nougat gets wider adoption and there is a wider user base then I think more features will be included.

Google, wtf- it currently takes TWO taps to commence a video chat with this app. That's TOO many! This can be reduced by FIFTY percent if you allow direct shortcuts or create a widget for this. Don't be lazy so your users can be lazy. Please, make this happen.

Love it Even in situations with mixed quality reception, when calling with Skype or WhatsApp is difficult, duo gives good video and perfect sound quality! Only feature I am missing is the ability to move the little window where I see myself below the physical camera.

Simple and Nice I only found this app because I got the new Google pixel and I gotta say I am glad I did. I am not a fan of Apple so it's nice to have a video calling app that is extremely easy to setup and use, available on Android!
