Unknown updates I used to enjoy messenger because it was easily accessible with its chat heads and everything. But the one thing I have to be against is the constant updates, especially since the updates aren't specified so I never know what is happening to my messenger. The most recent one changed the camera to be more like snap chat. That's okay by me, however it doesn't focus. I imagine later there will be a fix to it. But I'd say that it was more enjoyable when I knew exactly what was going on

Not happy I actally never write about apps but i use messenger all the time. I must say the new style makes me want to delete app. I dont like the fact the camera so easy to open it was better the old way. Sometimes it better to stay the same and allow other apps like snap chat and instgram keep there features that they cam up with first to themself .... Impove on quailty messages add more emjos upgraged face time so it makes better concetions but stay face book messenger..... Be orginal

Return it to the old way The latest update sucks. The essence of it being a messenger has already gone. Snapchat-like feature and Instagram-inspired format? Oh c'mon. Is it still Facebook Messenger, or what? This is actually my first time to give feedback to an app. It was just really disappointing. Please bring it back to the version before this. This app is the most great and most useful one for me, I don't wanna end up uninstalling it.

Can't delete Shared photo directly from "Shared Content" Why aren't we able to delete photo from shared content option...? If we can forward , share on Facebook and , save those images but why we can't delete anyone of those photos that we shared on conversation from directly through that option.. If this app add that option on same place :1. Save image 2. Share to facebook 3. Forward and 4. Delete that will be easy, helpful and comfortable for us. And there will be no need to check whole previous conversation to delete shared photos in it....

Love the awesome new features. Love how I can take short videos to send but it only works on the front facing camera. Bummer. Also I noticed that there are games and when I try to open one it says they are not available to everyone yet. When will they be available?????? I must try these new games! Especially Pac Man!! I love Pac Man. Other than those two problems I love all the new features. Especially the way you can take and edit photos adding things to them and drawing on them. That's awesome! Thanks guys.
Newest update is not helpful. I love Messenger and I use it for all my messaging. But this recent update makes it harder to navigate and the selfie camera turns on waaaay too easily. The previous version had all my sms listed together and all my FB chats together. Now it's a jumbled mess that just turns on the selfie cam every time I try to find a msg. Please go back to what you were, Messenger. This used to have an interface that made sense and didn't always just flip on the camera all the time!
Update Whatever update they just did is sort of annoying. I have messenger linked with texting and I used to be able to see SMS and fb messages separately and now I don't have that option. I also don't love that swiping down on the screen brings up the camera. It'd definitely be five stars if these elements were fixed, as I have always loved the convenience and fun of messenger. I like the new photo fun 😊
Keep Messenger a Messenger I have snapchat, I have instagram, I do not need my messenger to be turned into some bastard child of the two. The other previous updates up to this were quite good, I enjoy being able to call people and the like. This has brought messenger down a serious notch in my books, will me doing my best to migrate from it if the bastardisation continues
My day I would very much love to see only messages in my messenger. Let the facebook app flood the timelines with selfies and status update. Please provide an option to turn off this "My Day" feature especially that the swipe down option in my phone is meant to refresh the application I am using. Now it opens the camera. Not good. It used to be fun. 🙁
Handy, but goodbye privacy if you allow phone access When you are on messenger there is a button so that anyone on your Facebook page or on Messanger can call you without knowing what your number is. There is no way to turn this off so people you meet on Facebook who you don't really know can ring you up anytime they want. There is also a button next to that one so they can call you with the camera on. The only way to get rid of this is to uninstall, reinstall & deny phone access.
Hate having messenger. Takes up half my storage. Constantly having to remove it and reinstall to use other apps. People look at my phone and can see my chat heads. It's nobodys business who I'm talking to. And why MUST we download it. Makes no sense. Download a second app to get all the features from your first app?! Really..
Last update.... I usually don't write reviews at all... buut.... the last update messed up my kinda good relationship with this app. The extra functions are so annoyimg and only get in a way. The my day function, i don't really care about it so why it has to on the top of everything. And most importantly the app began to lag so much that I am writing messages instead of using this app to contact people. Nicely done developers! If the issues are not resolved soon I am deleting this app until new update comes.
Won't let me take a picture So far, so good. I don't really have a problem with the new "My Day" feature. I wanted to try the new feature but it just won't let me take a picture. And when I tried to take a picture to send to some of my friends, it would just say that I need to close other apps that might be using the camera. I tried closing all the running apps but still, the same message is on the screen. I tried several times but failed. I really like this app and it's very useful. Maybe it's just a bug but please fix this!!
The title of the application is not related. O c'mon how do I refresh my messages when the Snapchat thingy appears. Wth is the purpose of this app now is it sending messages of taking photos it doesn't even make any sense. I really dislike on what you did to the update the new instalment sucks and everything is gone especially the refreshing of the messages.😤😤
Getting Worse AGAIN We have Snapchat if we want to use Snapchat. We have messenger when we want to quickly update our friends on what we're currently doing. Not waiting hundred years for the camera to load to capture those moments. Maybe put the small faster camera windows back and like before, make the user click something to upsize it or better swipe upward
Better than its 3.9 rating ! This app deserves a >4 rating. Not a big fan of fb to start with but this app is functional, it's fast, it never highjacks ALL my ram like other apps such as Tumblr do every time I use them. I love the chat head cameo thingy that's floating on the screen, you can move it around our close it in one swipe. I mean, honestly, it's never appeared in the top 10 even top 20 battery heavy consumer apps. I don't get this.
Samsung Galaxy S6 This update really sucks, cant refresh the app now. Dont like the camera function on it. So will you please give people the choice of having that on there. This app will deleted soon if it is not put back to how it was. The app was working fine before the update, so why change something that didnt need changing. Real score is 0/5.
It works well and I love the Chat Heads feature, as it allows me to do other thing at the same time. UPDATE, DECEMBER 16, 2016: the new update has forced me to drop my rating from five stars to one. This wonderful app has now put camera functionality over chat functionality, essentially turning it into a Snapchat clone. This is horrible.
Newest update The newest update is cool and all but it makes my camera in messenger LAG so much. This is even a new phone for me and I've already tried deleting other apps and it's still laggy. I want to be able to send my mother videos of my kids quickly instead of having to go in my actual camera and send videos. Can we please just take this new update off?
App Needs To Be Split If you're going to deny us access to messages through the Facebook app, we deserve a 'lightweight' messenger client specifically for just messages. Every other feature that's being added recently should be part of a separate app. It's no wonder everyone is resorting to third party apps. Most people just want to use it for what the app name suggests.. 'Messages'.
NEW UPDATE SUCKS Can you have your own originality? messenger is suppose to make chatting your facebook friends a lot easier,but with this new update? It's so laggy, it has lots of bugs and that "My day" feature is based from snapchat and instagram. Don't you have your own originality? The purpose of this app is to chat not to show people pictures or videos of your day because that's why instagram is for, this new update BLOWS! A lot of people is complaing about this so please turn it back to it's old design
Can we disable the new Day Feed? I didn't even get consent if I wanted the Day features turned on before I updated and honestly I'd prefer a disable button. I don't care about the Day posts popping up above my chat windows and I'd rather just search for the friends posts I do want to view. A lot of your features would benefit from a disable button for users who don't want to use them without hurting the users you ARE catering to. Interface wise, the customizatiin features for the Days posts are nice enough. I'll give you that, at least.
Totally unuseful application! I can't send a file (shame), draw too much baterry for nothing. Is it so simple - facebook and messages in one place! That section Today is sooo annoying! Not everyone want to shate everything and every minute. I want to hide or disabled this section. People have to choose.
Not happy with update Not happy with the update. I used to be able to have it automatically save the pics I took to share which made it easy to access to send to others. Now it doesn't which means I need to take it with my camera or remember to press the little tiny download button. They are trying too hard to be snap chat, stop you worked fine the way you were
Is Messenger the child of Snapchat and Insta? Its nice that you guys are exploring and trying out new things for your users, but, I cant say that the latest update is "messenger-like" , are you guys really that desperate? Out of ideas? Please, use your creative minds to form something new. Not some rotten idea used by everyone. Seriously.
Camera doesn't work. After the update camera has stopped working it says something like 'unable to start camera ensure camera is not open in any other app.' and hangs my phone. No other camera app was open, 3GB RAM was covered about 40% only. Phone's built-in app still works. My phone has on-screen buttons(the digital ones) 5.5 inch screen. It worked fine before update. I like the app personally and would have no problems giving 5 stars once issue is fixed. Thanks for the attention, keep up the good work. :)
Please enable calls and video calls on Windows phone 8.1 Sir we r huge fans of your app.. Me and my classmates have windows phone besides android..but we like to use windows phone most.. So our request is please enable Voice call and video call features like WhatsApp or IMO in windows phone 8.1.. And good wishes for your team.. Only for this reason I rated 3 ..otherwise it is a 5star app undoubtedly.. Thank you!
A lot of people saying they hate the new updates. I think they're great! It's involved into more than a messaging app. I love being able to play all the games with my friends, and the event reminder is great for my football team's group chat. The app definitely has it's issues though
Stop changing it Since dec 2016 update the camera in messenger lags hugely when trying to take a picture making it difficult to impossible to take a picture quickly. The Snapchat functionality is not needed on a messenger app. Swiping up lauches the camera ui which is annoying. The ONLY thing i want fixed is for the messenger contact shortcuts to stay on homescreen after each update, as this app updates so often it's famn annoying to keep reinstating the shortcuts!! Stop revising the app!!
Recent update Let me just say first of all I am very very disappointed that I will be uninstalling this app or even writing a review of any kind but because I am very disappointed and upset I am writing this review. I have tried to Snapchat and in 30 seconds of using the app I uninstall the app horrible horrible and now I feel like. And on top of that when I send a message after this update happened it takes almost 2 hours my message to send and I'm sure more of messenger users are experiencing this.
Updated msngr I dont like this new messenger. Its annoying whenever i swipe the screen down it goes directly to the camera. And there are other stuff thats not related to my messages. Theres no option to hide those irrelevant tabs whatever u call it. I want to use the old one
Good at what it does. It is good at what it is supposed to do and does it really well. The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is the fact that you can too easily send a thumbs up just by tapping the icon. This results in it often being sent in an inappropriate conversation. You should have to still press Enter to send it.
The last update has me fighting with the interface most of the time... please give us thw option to customize what/where we want the bar to be. I dont have a working front facing camera which adds to the frustration since messenger keeps reseting my preference of using the back camera x (
Updates always causing more issues It seems like the updates cause more issues than they fix. I now can't send photos or videos when using the app. The camera feature inside the app is now very slow and videos recorded with it are very choppy. Both of these issues occured with the latest update, reinstalling didn't fix anything. Basic message functions still work just fine, however.
I'll put it back at the 5 stars once they fix... ...the way it works when you share stuff through it. You used to tap share, messenger would pop up, you type your message (if you want), check the boxes next to who you want to send to, then click send. The way it is now...no...stop it. Put it back, Facebook. It's WAY too easy to accidentally send messages to people now.
that's it, I can't stand to this app anymore. Where is the button to share location and see them?, Wrong Design, no sense working, no access to other folders. The first thing someone will need to do after install this app is turn off the floating heads. Also, When gonna have the basic function of search a word or text in the chat?
Pls remove the pull down camera and My Day! Can you just please make messenger a simple messaging app. Remove all unnecessary features. Make this app as basic as possible. It becomes so slow and lags all the time. What is this My Day all about? Bloody annoying! I dont need this nonsense for pete's sake! STOP IT -_-
Noooooo The latest update is the worst ever, the camera behind your message list is just atrocious, it looks like you are copying snapchat.. also I don't want to see my ugly ass face every time I accidentally swipe down. Please delete this function ASAP or I will be forced to go back to an older version..
