I'm probably not the first person to notice this, but holy shit is it a cool detail.
Spoils ahead.
Started watching S3 on my TV for maybe ten minutes, got to the point where Matt runs his finger on his ear, then had to go catch the train to work.
During the commute I kept watching on my phone using headphones and noticed in scenes where Matt is struggling with hearing, they've edited the audio so the right ear plug becomes more muted while the left is clear.
Amazing.
That is really, really cool i think.
A decade ago, the Dark Knight resonated with audience members living in a post-September 11 world, by exploring themes of chaos and anarchy and the balance between order and chaos. It took Daredevil's third season to do the same for the decade that came after.
Take away all the fantastic action and the sheer coolness of the Daredevil fantasy, and what you have at its core is a deep study, on the one hand of the human psyche - Of identity, bonding and abandonment, and on the other - Of the delicate balance of powers in modern society, particularly that of the judiciary and the fourth estate, and how that very balance can shape things as deeply personal as individual morality. These are all themes that are at the very core of our society today, ones that we're still grappling with. The preciseness with which the show pinpoints these issues, captures our worries and hopes, makes it that much more real - despite its superhero mask.
This is a rare gem, a bona fide slice of history - It's pop culture at its finest.
It’s absolutely sublime, the characters and depth. The storyline, the soundtrack. I’m not a critic but it’s a fucking triumph and I’m not going to go back to being depressed after 13 hours because I’ve ran out of episodes to watch.
was when Kingpin gets inmates in a prison to shut the fuck up so he can enjoy his omelette.
I'm up to episode 8 in season three. So far Agent Nadeem is probably my favorite arch so far. He's really well written and really well performed. So far I don't know if he's someone from the comics. I don't remember anyone by that name. All I say is he's just a really great addition to the cast and I hope to see the actor explode after this. But then again I hope the same for the rest of the Daredevil cast. Seriously why hasn't Charlie Cox and the rest of them everywhere right now? Their talents surpass plenty of oscar baiters easily.
Anyways, thought I'd just put out my praise for a character no one asked for by an actor no one knows that just went toe to toe with the rest of them in an already character rich and actor rich show.
I mean seriously! The guy only speaks in monologues. He is incapable of having a normal conversation. I am on episode 6, and I am LOVING the new season, but this is the one thing that has been annoying me.
I hope they renew it for another 16 seasons..
This has obviously been the best season yet. Despite all the hype, I didn't expect Daredevil to turn dark although I didn't expect Fisk to be alive either. Daredevil provoked Dex and he probably expected him to clear his path to Fisk but Dex could've slaughtered his way to the penthouse and he couldn't have done anything about it. So, why did he not let Dex kill Fisk or even Vanessa for that matter since he knew she gave the order to kill Nadeem? He didn't have any problem letting Punisher shoot members of the Hand at the end of S2. Or when Stick and Elektra cut them down while fighting. So, why fight to protect two shitbags?
Jesus! I have chills, man! The prison fight scene. Bulleye. Sweet damn! Wilson Bethel was perfection! Aaaaaaah, I am pretty sure my mind exploded.
From the continuous shot in ep4 to the black and white/selective lighting in ep5. So gooooooood mmf
Alright so i just finished episode ten. Without doing heavy SPOILERS, Dex beats Matt again in a fight.
Sure, Matt is still conflicted but still, he lost for a second time
My question is, how?
Could it be that Dex is actually stronger, more capable of killing him than opponents like Nobu or brainwashed Elektra?
I don't get it
