10 members of /r/CFB covered 8 conference media days, with live updates in game threads and hundreds of tweets on @RedditCFB... WHICH. GOT. VERIFIED.
When we came up with the idea of trying to make /r/CFB a credentialed media organization in July 2015 we didn't expect to roll out so quickly into a team that can hold its own among the sportswriters and journalists whose valuable work gets submitted onto the sub. We've never had any misplaced notions of replacing the work of sports journalists, rather supplementing them. Now we've covered games, bowls, championships, and hundreds of teams over 4 years. Coaches, administrators, and media recognize us (sometimes for odd reasons)—that helped us get the Sun Belt MVP Belt out earlier than anybody else (and the commissioner even remembered we brought up the idea a few years ago). This year we added the SEC to our coverage. Heck, I've become a member of the Football Writers Association of America.
Most of this year's media days team were returning starters, which is a huge plus when you've actually gone through the circus before. We had tremendous help on Twitter from everyone.
(chronological order)

That's 100 teams in 10 days!
We thought it was important to take a second to thank everyone. Is this post self-congratulatory? Yes: Obviously, none of us on /r/CFB are paid. Everyone who helped cover media days did it because they truly love this sport and wanted to make a significant contribution to the sub. Also, thank you to all of you who submitted interesting questions for us to ask coaches and players.
/r/CFB continues to lead Reddit in media and creative user participation (over 900 people have contributed to sponsoring bricks, locker, coach, team, etc). We do that because of YOU. You make it happen. Thank you for continuing to make /r/CFB the best place for college football discussion on the internet.

WHEN WILL THE DARKNESS OF THE OFFSEASON END?
As we wait for the light of college football to return, some of you may have questions about which games you want to attend, where to eat or what to do in those cities. This thread is for those discussions.
We have noticed a serious uptick in rumors about Urban Meyer and his job status vis-Ã -vis the issues involving one of his former assistant coaches, and whether he knew in 2015 of domestic abuse allegations against a member of his coaching staff despite his denial last week.
The crux of the story has been reported by Brett McMurphy.
At the time this is posted, we have no clear answers for any of this. Take all rumors with a grain of salt. We wanted to corral them all into one place so that it won't get out of hand, especially if there's no substance to his job status. Posts relating to his status at Ohio State will be removed if they are not in this thread.
We have set the comments to "new" by default, however you can adjust them to whatever you wish.
Thank you.
Minor Clarification:
If there is an official announcement or press release, the mod team will make an official discussion thread for it to keep down on mass postings. We will then lock this thread and direct people to that one so there's less confusion.
UPDATE: Report: Urban Meyer, Ohio State AD meeting in wake of bombshell report #collegefootball
A new discussion thread is available here.
Discuss the situation here, including what you think may happen next or questions you have on what's going on.
The light is at the end of the tunnel!

I was curious to this question so I took rivalry games with over 100 games played between the teams and then I narrowed that down even farther to where the team in the lead has greater than a .700 win percentage over their foe.
There are 8 rivlaries teams where this happens.
| Games Played | Series leader | Series Loser | Wins | Losses | Ties | % | First game | Last game |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 105 | Nebraska | Iowa State | 86 | 17 | 2 | 0.819 | 1896 | 2010 |
| 101 | Alabama | Mississippi State | 79 | 18 | 3 | 0.790 | 1896 | 2017 |
| 117 | Nebraska | Kansas | 91 | 23 | 3 | 0.778 | 1892 | 2010 |
| 112 | Oklahoma | Oklahoma State | 86 | 18 | 7 | 0.775 | 1904 | 2017 |

For better or worse, what coaching hires directly and radically changed the image/trajectory of a program?
My thoughts:
Saban at Bama
Harbaugh at Stanford
RichRod at Michigan
Carroll at USC
Peterson at Boise
Personally, my answer is the debates and discussions among friends.

Shoutout to Northwestern's billionaire alums for making this possible.
I was curious to see who has the most played rivalries since it has been some time since the big conference realignments in which some of them died.
It is interesting that Mizzou/Kansas died in 2011 but it is still among the top most played rivalries.
