Signing up for a PayPal account allows you to pay using your bank account, credit card, or PayPal balance (in most cases gift cards are not accepted).
If you don’t have a PayPal account, you can still complete your purchase with PayPal using “Guest Checkout”. After clicking “Checkout” on Bandcamp, look for the “don’t have a PayPal account?” option on PayPal’s details page, then enter your credit card information. Unfortunately, PayPal does not allow Guest Checkout in 100% of cases — sometimes it’s because of your geographic location or past purchases, and other times it’s because of incorrect settings in the artist’s PayPal account. If you don’t see the option, stress not. You can still complete your purchase by signing up for a PayPal account.
Credit card checkout is available for digital-only purchases in US, Canadian, and Australian dollars, British pounds, Japanese yen, and euros (depending on your credit card provider, you may not be able to complete your purchase in all of these currencies). Cards accepted are Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
If credit card checkout isn’t available for a specific purchase (either because of currency restrictions or because you are buying physical goods), you may still be able to pay with a card via PayPal, even if you don’t have a PayPal account.
First, head over to the “credit card” tab of your Settings page (linked from the gear icon while you are logged in to your Fan Account). Click the “Update Card” button to modify the stored information, or click “Delete Card” to remove it altogether.
After removing a saved card you’ll be able to add another, either through your Settings page or the next time you make a purchase.
Credit card payments made through Bandcamp are encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS), and credit card information is held in a PCI compliant environment.
To change your location, click the currency name in the Buy Now dialog or shopping cart, then select your country from the drop-down list. We’ll remember your setting for future purchases, too. It’s global, baby!
