The handling of Americans' personal data is "something we have to look into extensively" following the breach at Equifax EFX, -8.20% White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Monday. Sanders did not commit to backing any new legislation or regulation but said Homeland Security Adviser Tom Bossert would be one of the people taking the lead on a response. "We have to explore all of the best ways to make sure that Americans are protected," she said.
