With version 22 of the report generator for software developers, which has been undergoing constant development for the past 25 years, combit once again presents well-thought-out upgrades and useful features. The software manufacturer from Konstanz/Germany not only considered the needs of developers, but also of the users of the List & Label Report Designer. For example, when creating reports in the Designer, users will benefit from being able to keep groups/data together in tables. Favorites for properties provide a better overview, and animation options in the preview make additional presentation programs such as MS PowerPoint superfluous. The new features have also made crosstabs more comprehensive. Multiple result cells and cross-references give users the freedom to calculate everything that’s important. Drop-down areas and the automatic fill-up of missing data ranges provide a clearer overview and make data analysis easier. In addition to the new radar and treemap charts, most other charts can also be sorted according to the result value.
.NET developers will receive a wide range of new possibilities thanks to a virtual file system (repository). This means that web-based projects will get drill-down support, project templates, a table of contents, and an index. And because it is stream-based, desktop/server applications also benefit from this. The new WPF wrapper for the preview brings a number of new interactive features to WPF applications.
“List & Label 22 is the first version for which we are offering long-term support (LTS). FEATURE DETAILS
Radar Chart
The radar chart is ideal for visualizing relationships between different categories. Lines or areas can be used, either single or stacked. Hidden areas can be shown by displaying an outline.
Treemap
Treemaps show hierarchical data in the form of (also recursively) nested rectangles. The areas indicate size/quantity ratios and are proportional to the corresponding value. Drill-down reports via report parameters are also possible.
Chart Layout
The line type can be configured for coordinate lines (horizontal and vertical). Symbols in the chart can now optionally be assigned by the users themselves.
Sort Charts by Value
In addition to the current alphanumeric sorting method for the data series/category axis, the chart can now also be sorted according to the result value. Users benefit from the clearer presentation.
Top-N and ‘Others’ in Most Charts
Users can limit the data of a chart with Top-N to highlight important information. Data that does not correspond to the Top-N parameters will be aggregated under ‘Others’.
New Features in Crosstabs
The following new features in crosstabs provide expanded usage options:
- Multiple result cells: LL22 allows for multiple result cells. Sums can therefore be directly compared.
- Cross-references: The contents of other cells can be shown with different calculations, for example displaying a percentage or the difference between base values. This means less additional calculations for users.
- Expandable regions: If only the currently required data ranges are shown, users can analyze the data significantly faster and more easily.
- Automatic fill-in: This feature makes it easier to perform comparisons when data is missing from areas being compared.
- Top-N ‘Others’: After the Top-N entries, reports also optionally show the ‘Others’ values of the category as a sum. This makes it easier to classify the top entries according to their significance.
Virtual File System (Repository)
The new virtual file system removes crucial restrictions that previously existed for web-based projects. With the repository, more options are available in the Web Designer, and its range of features now more closely resembles that of the classic Desktop Designer. Among other things, project templates, drill-down support, tables of contents, and indexes are now available here too.
WPF Wrapper for Preview
A new control brings several new features to WPF applications: Displaying of pages created while printing, drill-down, interactive sorting, report parameters, and expandable regions.
Long-term Support (LTS)
For the Enterprise Edition, long-term support is available from LL22 onwards. combit supports versions with an even version number (22, 24, …) for approximately two years, until a new LTS version is released. This means developers with longer release cycles receive comprehensive support for even longer than before.
Favorites for Properties
The List & Label Designer offers a wide range of configuration options. Developers who require concise and clearly-laid out property windows for their users enable this feature for their customers with favorites.
Animations
Instead of having to use PowerPoint or other presentation tools, users can simply animate report objects individually in the preview. This makes the creation of presentations more efficient.
Keep groups/data together
In order to avoid the undesirable separation of data in tables due to page breaks, there is now a new, configurable Designer feature. Available for .NET and C++ with data provider.
Barcodes
MicroPDF417 and Codablock F expand the range of barcodes in LL22. GS1 Application Identifiers are fully supported. A new Designer feature allows for the calculation of checksums with any weighting.
Debwin4
Debug output can now also be logged quickly and easily for web applications and services, regardless of the process or its user context.
Logging Interface
With the new logging interface, developers can integrate the logging output into the existing logging of their own application for optimal analysis or use proven logging frameworks such as log4net or NLog.

General Overview
Kueri is a software SDK library that enables the integration of a simple to use search-box that enables end-users to enter Natural Language questions and then converts those questions in properly formatted database queries such as SQL or JSON.
The basic user experience includes as-you-type real-time suggestions that help the end users in the construction of their questions. The suggestions are base on the connected database structure, parts of the database's values and content, and the user's question history.
Kueri is not a drag-and-drop solution (like a JAR or DLL you would add to your project), but rather a deployed solution - a server that provides an API via XML-RPC protocol.
The Kueri download pack contains the server engine itself, the Kueri Admin interface, and a simple demo page which provides examples for embedding the search box. Kueri Admin is used to configure connections to databases, the semantic mapping, indexing, test the system, and many more.
In order to make proper use of the SDK, you first have to install Kueri Server, connect and configure your data source in the Kueri Admin, and finally integrate with the API.
Kueri Search-Box
The Kueri search-box allows users to ask questions using natural language in order to interact with data.
There are two modes to the search-box:
The Free Mode
The Guided Mode.
The Free Mode is more convenient as the user is capable of typing any input in English, and Kueri makes an attempt to understand the meaning behind the input and generate the relevant Run query. When it be calculated, The Run query is displayed in italic grey just beneath the input box. This Run query can be efficiently converted into a SQL query on the database.
Here, the Run query is seen in grey underneath the search-box.
The Guided mode allows you to directly create a Run query, but there the user must follow a strict sequence of elements when creating a question.
For example, you can see that although the input contains the word "by", the Guided Mode sentence includes the words "grouped by" below.
Embedding Kueri in your website
The Kueri package comes ready with several HTML samples which are configured to run against your Kueri server.
Basically, the search-box complete with look-ahead suggestions is already implemented in a single JavaScript library, which can also take care of visualization of the results.
Simply take from the supplied samples the relevant parts you require and integrate into your host solution and finish up bu making the necessary few configuration modifications.
Inside the Kueri SDK downloadable package there are several demo pages, prepared for the most common use cases.
demo_ textbox_sql - Shows simple input box, with conversion to SQL.
demo_suggestbox_sql - A page that embeds the search box, and merely displays the SQL. This is a simple demo page for testing.
demo_anonymous - This page is used when authentication is unwarranted.
This demo also provides visualization of the results in a table using the Knockout framework.
Note that the data source should allow anonymous access via API, otherwise Kueri will require authentication.
demo_with_login - This page includes a page for user authentication before asking questions.

MindFusion WinForms chart control has been completely redesigned and developed from scratch to achieve a lean software architecture, greatly improved performance and a huge number of new features.
Brand new data model
Data that should be drawn in charts is read through an interface called Series, whose instances can be assigned to the Series properties of Chart and SeriesRenderer classes. Developers can implement this interface in their own model classes to avoid duplicating data. The library includes several pre-defined series classes that can be used to specify data via IList or array objects.
New rendering model
Chart graphics are drawn inside Plot components by SeriesRenderer-derived objects. Each plot can contain multiple series renderers from same or different types. For example area, line and bar graphics can be drawn in the same plot by adding AreaRenderer, LineRenderer and BarRenderer objects to its SeriesRenderers collection. Chart controls automatically generate a series renderer of appropriate type for their Series.
Dashboard
The newly added Dashboard control can contain multiple plots, axes, legends, images, gauges and text blocks arranged in dynamic layout. Individual components can be added to dashboard’s default RootPanel or LayoutPanel containers, or for more complex layouts add intermediary panels such as GridPanel and StackPanel to the default ones. To show different types of chart graphics, developers can add Plot2D to draw in 2D Cartesian coordinate system, Plot3D for 3D Cartesian system, and PolarPlot for polar coordinate system. To draw horizontal or vertical axes, the objects to add are respectively XAxisRenderer and YAxisRenderer. To show gauges, developers should add LinearGaugeRenderer or OvalGaugeRenderer, whose Gauge property contains the gauge model definition.
Print and export
The Dashboard control and Chart controls that derive from it expose Print and PrintPreview methods for printing on paper. The ExportImage and CreateImage methods generate bitmap image of the dashboard. The ExportPdf method exports the chart to a PDF (Portable Document Format) file. The ExportSvg method exports the chart to an SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) file.
Styling
Values of appearance properties can come from several places in the component hierarchy. SeriesRenderer-derived objects can use attributes from their local SeriesStyle, from plot’s SeriesStyle, or from the *Series properties in current Theme. Component classes use either their local properties or ones defined in a theme. By default, appearance properties in SeriesRenderer and Component classes have null values, which makes the drawing code use values from the theme.

More than 100 file formats are supported by DocuVieware lite. The supported compression schemes include JPEG, JPEG2000, JBIG2 and more. The documents formats include PDF, DOCX, TXT, SVG, DICOM, TIFF, PNG and more. RAW camera image formats support is also provided.
With DocuVieware Lite it is possible to navigate through documents, zoom-in and zoom-out, rotate pages and select text.
Navigation in continuous page view mode is automatically enabled for multipage documents. DocuVieware Lite provides enhanced quality zooming, particularly for zoom-out actions and rotation performed on documents preserve the document’s original quality.
The text selection feature is very accurate in text searchable documents and allows the user to copy to the clipboard.
Unicode is fully supported to encompass alphabetic, ideographic and symbolic characters (including publishing characters, mathematical and technical symbols and punctuation characters).
Licensing
DocuVieware Lite is a free HTML5 document viewer with a very simple licensing model. The same license key is used for both development and deployment context. The SDK can be used by an unlimited number of developers and deployed on an unlimited number of servers. It can be distributed via the on-premises (the web applications created with DocuVieware Lite are hosted on the customers/clients servers) and SaaS (Software as a Service, which is a cloud-based service) models without any restriction.

LightningChart has been able to achieve BILLION (1,000,000,000) data points scrolling line plot that no other WPF or WinForms charting component has ever been able to.
Groundbreaking performance
By intelligently utilizing continuously evolving gaming technologies, graphics cards features and processing power, LightningChart was able to achieve BILLION (1,000,000,000) data points scrolling line plot. In previous benchmarking tests (2013) smooth line streaming with high data point counts LightningChart was able to set a new record of 20 million (20,000,000) data points. This was unique then, but 2016 LightningChart set the standards in this industry at a totally new level and achieved scrolling line plot of BILLION (1,000,000,000) data points. This has not been achieved by any other WPF or WinForms charting component. LightningChart real-time optimized series, and can efficiently visualize real-time data feeds no other WPF or WinForms charting component can.
To improve performance, some charts use data resampling/downsampling. Resampling loses data details as majority of the data points are skipped or visualized inaccurately. LightningChart's groundbreaking efficiency enables real-time rendering without having to use these kinds of tricks.

Technical setup of breaking the record
LightningChart WPF v.7.1 preliminary release was used, in a Visual Studio WPF C# project.
Periodically, selected count of data points are appended in the tail of each series, by using a timer. When the chart gets full (reaches right edge), the chart starts to scroll the view.
LightningChart's fixed-interval series type was used, with 32-bit floating point accuracy to save memory. Line was set to rounded-joint style, 2 pixels wide, anti-aliased line. Coloring effect by Y value was applied, to colorize the lines with alarm limits; blue for low levels, red for high levels.
With default setup, there's 10 series, and X axis length is 100,000,000 points. That is total 1,000,000,000 points.

Numerous customer requests have been included in this release such as adding structured display and templates (custom and built-in) technology to the HTML5 Medical Viewer. With these features, the end-user can design custom display templates choosing from three ways to arrange series images: sequentially, DICOM instance number or custom JavaScript function. Users can save the templates to a LEADTOOLS storage server as a DICOM structured display dataset; the LEADTOOLS Medical Viewer will use them to render series.
Additional features added to the HTML5 Medical Web Viewer include rendering encapsulated PDF documents in a viewer frame, and users can now upload DICOM to the server directly from the viewer.
Besides adding new features, LEAD Technologies continues to refine the HTML5 Medical Viewer and related services. This latest update provides many speed upgrades, including load, window-level, image processing, and cine. These optimizations open the door to higher quality MPR output and real-time window-level of large projection radiographs such as mammography and x-ray images. Other enhancements include better spyglass functionality and support to load all types of images such as CT, MR, and MG. Stack functionality has been enhanced to handle large volume stacks such as CT and MRI, and perform synchronization on two large stacks of the same anatomy. The viewer can now generate high quality orthogonal slices and use a 3D cursor for smooth MPR navigation. Additionally, the probe tools have been strengthened by adding Hounsfield (HU) scale support.
Multi-Resolution and Tiled Image Technology Added to HTML5 Medical Viewer
At the core of several of the HTML5 Medical Web Viewer enhancements is the new multi-resolution and tiled image (MRTI) technology, which optimizes the delivery of large, extremely high-resolution (up to 1TB) images, including microscopy and pathology images. MRTI intelligently serves a portion and resolution of the image based on the specific client request. This saves bandwidth, reduces memory requirements, and increases the overall efficiency of the entire system.
WADO and DICOMweb Interface
LEADTOOLS now provides extensive support for DICOM WADO, including WADO-URI, WADO-WS and DICOMweb (RESTful DICOM Services). Developers can use the API to directly access patient/study related data stored in third-party PACS or expose PACS data to direct third-party access using the DICOM defined HTTP protocol standard, including DICOM data storage (STOW-RS) over the web.
In addition, LEADTOOLS includes DICOMweb support for the LEADTOOLS high-level PACS Framework. This enables third-party systems to directly query (QIDO-RS), retrieve (WADO-RS), and store (STOW-RS) DICOM object over the web to its DICOM storage system using DICOM WADO protocol from anywhere, thereby removing the domain boundary limitation.
Advanced J2K Technology
The compression experts at LEAD Technologies have optimized the loading of heavily tiled J2K and TIFF J2K files. Additionally, they have expanded TIFF J2K technology in LEADTOOLS by adding functions to enumerate and load sub-resolutions of J2K data encapsulated in TIFF.
New Features Added to Annotation Technology
Snap-to-grid and alignment UI features have been added with this release. These features provide image markup formatting features usually only found in word processing and presentation applications.
New Image Processing Functions
Salt & Pepper Noise Removal and UnWarp image processing functions are now available in LEADTOOLS. The UnWarp function removes the distortion in an image of a cylindrical object, as if removing a label from off of the cylinder and flattening it out.

PITTSBURGH, PA – March 17, 2016 - GrapeCity, the largest component solution provider in the Microsoft Visual Studio Partner Ecosystem, today released GrapeCity Ultimate, its world-renowned offering which bundles the data and UI controls from ComponentOne Studio, Wijmo and Xuni together for web, desktop and mobile business application development. The first release of 2016 includes full Angular 2 support in Wijmo, the RTW release of Studio UWP Edition, and new controls including OLAP for Wijmo, FlexSheet for MVC and FlexPivot for WinForms, all which empower developers to spend less time coding and more time innovating.

Shading: PDF rendering has been extended to all types of shading.
Annotation links: it is now possible to link to a page within a PDF and not a website only.
PDF OCR and True Type fonts
Searchable PDFs are now making use of True Type fonts, fixing some issues that may happen with Microsoft SharePoint and other popular ECM systems.

The internal cache system of GdPicture.NET has been redesigned to improve the performances of the application when handling fonts. This new cache for system fonts dramatically reduces memory usage, reduces garbage collection time and speeds up the opening of new documents.

DocuVieware version 2
DocuVieware is a fully-customizable, fully-featured and universal HTML5 viewer and document management kit (www.docuvieware.com). Its purpose is to view, annotate and easily manage any document, on any device and any browser. It supports more nearly 100 file formats, including PDF, TIFF and SVG.

SpecFlow, the popular open source Cucumber port for .NET, has been updated to version 2. The SpecFlow+ Runner extension has also been updated to support SpecFlow 2.
The latest version of the test execution suite introduces support for the NUnit 3.0 and xUnit 2.0 test runners, including parallel test execution. Other new features include support for Gherkin 3, the ability to determine the hook execution order, extensible table conversions and comparisons, and many other improvements and fixes. SpecFlow+ Runner has also been updated to version 1.3 for compatibility with SpecFlow 2. SpecFlow+ Runner is a paid extension for SpecFlow that integrates directly with Visual Studio’s Test Explorer and extends SpecFlow with additional features such as HTML reports, execution statistics and smart test execution. Existing SpecFlow+ users can upgrade to the latest version free of charge until the end of February, even if their upgrade period has expired.

The most outstanding features of the release is the support for ASP.NET MVC with HTML 5, PDF content removal and text obfuscation capabilities and support for work with PDF portfolio.
The implemented ASP.NET MVC 4 and HTML 5 web controls allows to view, annotate and edit images and PDF documents in ASP.NET MVC applications as well as there is available the new functionality for image processing in ASP.NET Web Forms applications.
