Most important take home about NHS spending announcement - it’s enough for standstill service quality, it’s NOT enough for a shopping list of improvements. It excludes capital, training, public health and social care - all must get extra funding in the Autumn Budget.

Should also point out that this is just NHS Eng's budget, so excludes crucial things like public health and capital funding. We don't have details but expect the overall DHSC budget to increase by about 3% (against 3.7% historic avg) twitter.com/LawrenceDunhil…
