on a faster release cycle. This has enabled teams to finally realize their

easy to spin up or down, but come with an unforeseen issue.

CentOS Linux virtual appliance for vSphere that contains all required
OpenNebula services optimized to work on existing VMware vCenter deployments.
vOneCloud is for companies that want to create a self-service cloud
environment on top of their VMware infrastructure without having to abandon
their investment in VMware and retool the entire stack. vOneCloud deploys an
enterprise-ready OpenNebula cloud just in a few minutes where the

Python: Beyond Just Web Apps

Python has long been a go-to language for developers creating cutting-edge
web applications. However, Python’s advantages of power, versatility,
flexibility and ease of programming have made it a favorite language in a
multitude of applications, industries, and niches.
Examples of Python being used outside the world of Web apps include:
The development of an ERP/CRM named ERP5, developed by Nexedi for use in
government agencies, the apparel industry, and other warehouse-based
businesses.
A self-contained marine navigation light from Carmanah Technologies. This is
a good example of how Python is helping to power the move away from dedicated
computers to the new era of the Internet of Things.
Substantial portions of the semiconductor facility at the Phillips

Open source software, while not synonymous with Java, may often be seamlessly
integrated with Java code to produce a versatile synthesis that makes
developers’ lives much easier. In recent years, developers have taken some
open source dynamic languages, commonly referred to as “scripting
languages,” and adapted them to the more mainstream Java platform. This
allows the new hybrid language to maintain its scripting qualities, while
being fully utilized by a Java program. Three of the most prominent open
source/Java languages are JRuby, a Java implementation of Ruby; Jython, a
Java implementation of Python; and Groovy, an object-oriented programming

The blurring of professional and personal lives in social media and the rush
of organizations to “join in” may create just that.
Almost every modern organization has behavioral policies known as
“zero-tolerance” these days. These policies are designed to provide a
healthy, productive environment in which anyone can work without fear of
being insulted, offended, harassed, or otherwise made uncomfortable on a day
to day basis.
Basically, “zero-tolerance” policies are - in part - the codification of
the common-sense rule that says you don’t talk about religion, politics, or

Selenium is a free Web Application Testing System. It gained lots of
popularity since it is available. It’s integration to FireFox – which
allows instant record/replay as well as the scripting option - makes it a
great tool for functional web testing.
BrowserMob on the other side leverages Selenium by providing an automated
load-testing environment for Selenium scripts all configurable online via a
Web Dashboard.

Cloud Computing on Ulitzer
Steve (apparently yes, we are on a first name basis) offers up his thoughts
on developing APIs for the Cloud in “A Cloud Tools Manifesto.” While the
inclusion of the word “manifesto” in the title raised quite the stir
(“Manifestogate” is still fresh on the minds of many cloud-oriented
people), what really caught my eye is his inclusion of a “mock endpoint”
primarily for testing of API based integration and development. This is
something that’s increasingly important not just to cloud but to Web 2.0
and social networking sites that provide APIs via which other sites and
client applications can access the functionality and data unique to that
application.

Thanks to the Internet of Things (IoT), our world is more automated and connected than ever before. Just about everything, from cars to refrigerators, to coffee machines, has the ability to connect to the Internet, allowing us to micromanage each individual device. This type of automation is an exciting direction for the world to be moving in and the benefits it brings to businesses are huge.
Once again, we find ourselves at the dawn of a new year. And many would say, not a moment too soon. With a series of tumultuous elections around the world and an unusual number of celebrity passings, it's been a rough year. But there is at least one bright spot from 2016: Intellyx's digital transformation prognostications were close to spot on! As is our tradition, each year we review last year's predictions and make all new fresh ones! This year, it is my turn to review Jason's 2016 predictions and let you know what I see happening in the coming year.
Whenever you connect anything to the internet, there is risk involved. Just ask the millions of IoT zombies infected with Mirai. Sure, there have been various stories over the years about hacking thermostats, refrigerators, cameras, pacemakers, insulin pumps and other medical devices along with cars, homes and hotel rooms…but Mirai took it to a new level.
Software-defined infrastructure (SDI) is one of the most popular and ongoing trends within datacenters and cloud environments leading to better infrastructure flexibility by developing the infrastructure based on scripts respectively source code. However, SDIs are more and more becoming just a means to an end since automation, sophisticated algorithms and thus intelligent systems are leading to an Artificial Intelligence defined Infrastructure (AI-defined Infrastructure – AiDI).
My son Max is home from college and that always leads to some interesting conversations. Max is in graduate school at Iowa State University where he is studying kinesiology and strength training. It has gained a strong following among developers, popular libraries and frameworks like JQuery and Angular JS are all built with JavaScript. I recently read an MIT Sloan Management Review article by Clayton Christensen’s recent book titled “The Hard Truth About Business Model Innovations.” While the article is full of great observations about business model transformation, the most important motivation for business model transformation is found at the end: “..our understanding of the business model journey allows us to see that, over the long term, the greatest innovation risk a company can take is to decide not to create new businesses that decouple the company’s future from that of its current business units.”

We’re starting to see predictions about what’s going to be hot in enterprise technology in 2017. Cloud (yet again), Blockchain, Big Data / Analytics, Internet of Things (IoT) are all among the top of the list. However, it was Krish Subrumanian’s humorous tweet that started me thinking about what will be the single most important contribution from the enterprise technology community in 2016. While all the aforementioned technologies will certainly see a lot of interest and growth, they’re all enabled by a Web platform.
Digital transformation requires participants to have a vision for and understanding of what they are trying to achieve and why. In fact, the lack of a clear digital strategy is the second biggest mistake companies make in digital transformation, right behind moving too slowly, according to the middle managers we surveyed. Digital strategies, however, should evolve out of a documented, enterprise-focused digital transformation “doctrine.”
