Samsung Galaxy Tab A NOOK 7"

This tablet is not much better than the Tab 4. It is not worth trading in most Nooks for it, while also paying nearly $100 for a cheap tablet. It's probably better to get the 9.6" tablet and go the extra $100. That is a much better deal at nearly $200. 8 GB of memory is inexcusable today in a device like the Tab A. The SD card only holds certain things, so all Apps can't be stored on it in total on this device. I ran out of memory. I would say to do the trade in deal if you have still have a Color Nook. I personally would never trade in my e-ink readers for this or any of the HD Nooks for this. I have a lot of Nooks and the Tab 4 and the Tab A are terrible at hooking up to the Internet and 8 GB is a joke. Not everything is transferable to the SD card and I can't say that enough. Get the larger 9.6 instead.

I've had this a few days now and, for the most part, am satisfied. I traded up my Nook that is 5 years old now, they don't take your old Nook in case anyone is wondering about that because I was. My old Nook still works great it's just not a real tablet, it has the Nook OS. The memory is not good on this device, the 8GB is more like 1.5GB after everything that comes preloaded, you WILL need an SD card. The WiFi connectiom drops while playing games at home but that could be my slow WiFi. Battery life is great! I can play games, surf Facebook and web, play netflix for my baby, and then read myself to sleep on one charge. I haven't had any issues with playback of video, the screen looks great. The camera isn't great... it takes nice still pictures but trying to get a pic of the baby is impossible as he moves around too much and it blurs. The video recording is very nice though! The sound isn't bad either. All in all, I'm happy with my $100 upgrade. Just keep in mind that this is not a $300-$400 tablet, it' a $100 tablet and it's a great deal for that price.

First of all if you look the majority of negative reviews are from those that never purchased this item. They own the older version. I picked this up today and like it a lot. I have a 10" S2 I paid $800 for so I do not want to risk getting it stolen so I wanted something smaller and cheaper to carry with me.This is a decent tablet. Good screen color and speed for the price. You do not need to turn in your past items to get the special price. They logged into my account at the store to verify my nook status and gave me a discount. The cover is worth $40 so i saved $80 as a member.

A fully featured Android tablet with Google Play store (install any additional reader you want) AND best-in-class Nook app support? Yes please.

I have been a NOOK user for years and this is my fourth one. I would happily go back to my old NOOK. This new model is so loaded with unwanted apps from Google and Samsung that I can't keep more than a couple of books or magazines loaded at a time. I even purchased a SD card! I have been uninstalling junk apps for months and it still sends me a message that my memory is full. I want to be able to have my library at my fingertips, not shuffle them around by archiving or sending them to the cloud. Barnes and Noble, what have you done??!!

When I purchase electronics, I research them over every format I can find. Social media, elecronics websites, the whole available gamut. I don't purchase just to "have a chap option I can trave with." I want something that does on day one what it is supposed to be capable of doing. I bought my tablet after reading reviews of people who said it was great, it streamed video without a pk the plunge.roblem, it had apps that were suggested by the manufacturer. The list went on and on, so I took the plunge. The 8GB memory was quickly eaten up by the operating system, then the bloatware that both came preloaded, and then became automatically downloaded from the play store. That 4GB that was left became 1.9, the battery began draining quickly, and the tablet became slow and almost unresponsive. If you want a toy that will be your traveling companion, that will sit on the beach with you and you won't worry about it being stolen because it was cheap to begin with, then this is the one for you. If you want a capable, cost-effective tablet that will do more than just let you read books and maybe read the occasional email, then look elsewhere.

Great small tablet for reading!. Also own a 9.6 for games but this is my new favorite small tablet.You do need extra memory, but the available fonts and reader and library setup are wonderful and remind me of the best of the nook HD Excellent battery life too. Highly recommended!!

I've had this Nook since September 25, 2016 and have waited before I did a review. I frankly don't know what the name of my old tablet is but have had it for several years. It is a tablet and I can get out to the Internet, access email etc. I really liked it and the only reason for upgrading is that I felt it was getting too old, the cat like to chew the corners and it's been dropped a couple of times. Am glad I still have the old one and still use it. I wanted to give the new one a great review and in a lot of ways I do like it. Actual screen size is about the same the colors are clear and crisp and I do like the fact that the title of the book shows all the time at the top-author would be good too, the way the dictionary works is good too. The very best thing that can be said is that it does group authors by series. This is a step forward although even within a series I want to be able to tell which is the 1st and which is the 31st or at least be able to note it somewhere without opening the book. Other than that I agree that it isn't worth the money, I'm not sure if the more expensive ones would answer my problems I don't have the money to find out. My main complaints are: (1) Keypad to put in the pin is too small. There is not much else on that screen except date, time and weather why not let the keypad take up more space? (2) once I leave the 'book' it's hard to get back to it. Sometimes I can but most of the time I need to go to Current Read. Why not have the little book icon on the bottom? (3) Not liking the flat sides, my old Nook had a wider rim. With this Nook too many time I hit something not meaning too and get out of the book. (4) What really started this was I couldn't find out how to tell what I had left on my gift card. Looked everywhere and finally had to log into B&N and My Account to find it. Am sure I'll find it but it is annoying at the moment. I did finally find it. (5) I did download a Sample and now want to buy it. The old Nook had a Buy Now button. Why should I have to go out of the book to buy it? (6) Very annoying that the internet connection flashes at the bottom of the screen. This happens way too often and it seems mostly when I'm at that point in my reading. There is an internet connection icon at the top which works perfectly fine. All in all not bad but not the upgrade I was hoping for.

Slick and thin. Not intuitive to use, relies way too much on Google. Very little 'storage' or memory space. All my books are 'in the cloud' and over 40% of memory is taken. I have loaded no apps at all.
