Shared publicly -Android N beta version 4/Dev preview 4. Today my Nexus 6 received the 4th version of the developer preview of Android N. (NPD56N) So right away, of course I went and tapped on the Android version to see if there was a new Easter egg. We no longer have the experience like we did in lollipop and marshmallow. Instead we just get a capital letter N. If you continue tapping on it and then long press on it it says NAMEY McNAMEFACE. ...LoL. I also noticed that while the system was updating ,we no longer see the little green Android on his back. I also didn't notice a white toast message saying upgrading apps. Instead we get a big ring on the screen that appears to be moving around a little bit and has those Nexus colors red, blue, green, yellow. I did not notice this on developer preview 3. I have included a screenshot but the only thing I had handy was my tablet which does not take good photos whatsoever. especially since I was in a room that was well-lit . Also has anyone else noticed that starting with developer preview 3, you no longer have the date next to the time in your drop down bar. At least that's how it is on Nexus 6. The only way to check the date is to lock the screen and then hit the power button again. The date and time does show up on the lock screen. This has not changed in developer preview 4. I really hope that Google's plan is to add that feature back in because I cannot find in the settings anywhere to make it show me the date in the drop-down bar. What else has anyone noticed that is different between developer preview 3 and the new updated developer preview 4?

Memory leaks aren't fun. Although we're not entirely sure what ever came of that nasty leak in Lollipop, another memory leak (or possibly the same one) reared its ugly head in Marshmallow. Someone actually filed a bug report for the leak in the AOSP Issue Tracker back in November of last year, but it's only now that the Android team has finally been able to track it down and terminate it. How about a Google made Nexus (or better a Pixel)? They have their own hardware division now that Osterloh is back... There have been several articles suggesting Google wants to take a more hands on approach and have more of an Apple-like control over the Nexus development. What better way to achieve that than to build it in house yourself.

Nexus fans, your June security update has arrived. Google today posted the June 2016 Nexus Security Bulletin, and with it have arrived the factory images and OTA files. Google has addressed 21 vulnerabilities with the June 2016 security update, six of which were deemed critical. Of that six, four of them were related to Qualcomm drivers.
