California Democratic Rep. #AdamSchiff said if President Donald #Trump's attorneys try to assert executive privilege to stop the public release of special counsel #RobertMueller's eventual report, he would likely compel publication in some form. Schiff is expected to chair the House Intelligence Committee when #Democrats take the chamber next month, and he said he would likely use his subpoena power to obtain and release #Mueller's eventual report if he needed to.

Schiff also stressed his concern repeatedly about acting Attorney General #MatthewWhitaker, who disregarded the advice of a #JusticeDepartment ethics official to step aside from overseeing the Mueller probe. Trump lashed out at Whitaker regarding the federal case against his former attorney Michael Cohen.

Donald #Trump Jr and long-term Trump aide Roger Stone face a heightened threat of criminal charges as Democrats on Capitol Hill prepare to hand evidence to #RobertMueller’s #Russia investigation. They could be charged with perjury if there is evidence that they lied to Congress during interviews behind closed doors with the House intelligence committee.

The California Democrat #AdamSchiff will take over leadership of the committee now that his party has control of the House, following victory in the midterm elections. Schiff made clear he would be handing over transcripts which had been withheld from Mueller’s investigation by Republicans when they controlled the panel. The committee staged 73 interviews with dozens of witnesses, including #JaredKushner, Trump Jr and Stone. So far, 33 people and three Russian organisations have been charged, convicted or have pleaded guilty in connection with Mueller’s investigation.

#Republicans blocked an attempt Thursday (July 19) morning to subpoena the interpreter who sat in on President Donald #Trump’s one-on-one meeting with Russian President #VladimirPutin in Helsinki, Finland on Monday (July 16). Rep. #AdamSchiff, the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, joined with fellow California Democratic Rep. #EricSwalwell to make a motion to subpoena #MarinaGross, a State Department official.

After a brief roll call vote down that fell along party lines, Schiff’s motion was successfully tabled 11-6, squashing the effort. Senate #Democrats are also exploring ways to hear from the interpreter and have demanded the Trump administration turn over all the 'contemporaneous notes' taken during the meeting.

Once again, Jones's excuse that he's a performance artist. This time he might have broken a federal law in threatening Rep Adam Schiff.

But, you know, it's just comedy.
