This article does a wonderful job summarizing the uneasy "what even is this thing?" feeling we had as and I built the Visualizing Quaternions explorable videos. If you liked what we made, this is well worth a read.

You might think it’s just a video, but you’d be mistaken. We just released a series of “explorable videos” wherein teaches you about quaternions and 3d rotation! Is this a new educational medium?

That's clearly what happened. Density of granite is 2.75g/cm^3, so a 4000 pound cube would be (4000lbs * 453.6g/lb / 2.75g/cm^3)^(1/3) * 0.0328ft/cm = 2.86 feet per side.

Student solo just east of DC. I saw the smoke from the Pentagon on the horizon and thought, "huh, I remember reading about using smoke to tell which runway to use; looks like 36." I was new enough to flying that I had no idea that was *not* a usual amount of smoke.

It was a CR2032, which you can get almost anywhere. But anything that's 3 volts that you can jam in there will work fine.

Maggie, a 17 year old student pilot on solo, just had a wheel fall off on takeoff. Listen to the audio as she talked to ATC and safely landed it. Fantastic job Maggie!
