Seems a little weak on the thrust side. And the mass ratio seems lower than what you would expect from a missile. That’s even more obvious for the Safir.

Once a day, little satellites zip over northern Iran and snap a few photos of Iran’s spaceport. Activity is up, but what are they launching? (Imagery by , analysis by and )

THIS is . The image taken by - shown in its original version (left) & sharpened version (on right) - is the most detailed image of the farthest object ever explored by a spacecraft.

50 years ago, Frank Borman, Jim Lovell, and William Anders were the first humans to watch Earth rise beyond the Moon. Their reading of the Bible‘s first book, Genesis, at Christmas Eve, live from lunar orbit, at that time was the most watched TV broadcast ever. Merry Christmas!

Today marks 50 years since the first time humans entered the gravitational sphere of influence of another world. At about 2005 UTC 1968 Dec 23, the crew of Apollo 8 reached the Lunar Hill sphere and their trajectory became dominated by lunar rather than Earth gravity.

Not correct. They already did so in 2012.

Yesterday‘s flight of SpaceShipTwo VSS Unity reached space according to U.S. Air Force definition. It is still far from orbital, but far beyond any aviation flight envelopes. Impressive! (btw, engine cutoff altitude for the reported top speed of M2.9 is just a quick guess)

It was a long road, with many setbacks. First plans were to be there in 2008. Good to see they are there now. It’s irrelevant if they reached 80+ or 100+ km (both is suborbital, with vacuum-like conditions). Congratulations !

I think and CNS had located that one at about the same time. Interesting to see that there is more around that area than just a highway.

Nothing is easy in that field. But clustering Scuds would clearly have been easier than developing new engines.

Would have been an easy way for range increase. But this was the only attempt of simply bundling Scuds that I know of.

I still wonder what the reasons were to assume that „Taepodong IRBMs“ were actually operational and deployed. Probably classified information. And still being used on maps like this.
