    I have tabled a motion for tomorrow calling for the House of Lords to return on 2 January not 7th so we can debate & vote on Mrs May’s Brexit deal a week earlier than the government proposes. Totally unacceptable that we should be on holiday until 2nd week of Jan in this crisis

    So let me get this clear: If we give fewer firsts, it's 'falling standards', and if we give *more* firsts, it's 'falling standards' (and if we give the same number, it's 'stagnation') Just stop it. Stop inventing meanings for numbers in order to bash universities. It's pathetic.
