Uhoo announces a smart air quality sensor

But it won't filter your air

Uhoo's smart air quality sensor is the newest addition to the ever-growing world of the Internet of Things. The air monitor, the subject of a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo, can track and detect temperature, dust, humidity, air pressure, ozone, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and volatile organic compounds (VOC), and relay all that information to a companion app on your phone.

You can receive real-time alerts and track changes to the air quality in your home over time. The Uhoo won't actually filter your air, so you'll still need a separate air filter to purify your home. But at $139 for the Premium version (the $99 Classic version doesn't detect carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, or ozone), the Uhoo is noticeably cheaper than comparable air sensors like Sprimo (that can also filter your air) for $300. The Uhoo expects to ship out the first preorders by the end of the year.
