I chose Gartner for three reasons — progression, structure and recognition. I had been promised a lot at the interview stage, and the more I discovered about Gartner, the more I knew this is where I had to be. The ability to progress within my current role was shown through multiple examples and the path offered was extremely appealing. If you are driven and want to succeed, the incredible sales incentives make it incredibly easy to motivate yourself to come to work every day.
From a professional perspective, I would say being able to represent such a powerful brand. We help our clients make the correct IT decisions every day, and knowing our clients value our input makes for a very rewarding sales process. From a personal perspective, you are continually valued and offered guidance/training on how to improve in your current role. If you prove yourself you really can progress and move up the company, as I have seen many colleagues do.
I joined in May 2012 and this role has surpassed all my expectations. Having hit the ground running I managed to qualify for Winners Circle in my first eight months. In the following year, I hit my first-half bonus and was fortunate to be promoted into a management position within EMEA in July 2013. I was informed at the interview stage that progression was available but completely underestimated just how achievable it was!
I find myself surrounded by like-minded, driven and successful individuals, which provides a fantastic, fun working environment. Having experienced my first Winners Circle, it has made me realize just how much my own mindset dictates where I want to go within Gartner. Drive, integrity and a hard work ethic can make the impossible seem possible!
