Gartner

What made you seek a career at Gartner?

Before I joined Gartner, I worked at IT management positions for close to 20 years. I thought my experience could be helpful to CIOs, especially those in China, in addressing the challenges they are facing. Gartner provided me an excellent opportunity to achieve this.

What do you enjoy most about working for Gartner?

While I visit the client/prospect, or conduct an inquiry, I talk to people from various industries and geographies, people in varied positions. This gives me the opportunity to learn a lot of things that I would never have the chance to know if I was not a Gartner analyst.

What do you like most about the Gartner culture?

What I really like is that my peer analysts are willing to help their colleagues. As a new associate at the company, I am facing a lot of challenges. Whenever I write a message to seek advice from my colleagues, I always get a lot of useful guidance, which makes my life much easier.

What have you learned from your colleagues?

I learned a lot from my colleagues. I got to understand from them that the most important thing as an analyst is to provide useful, practical advice to our clients. Our value exists only if we create value for the clients.
