Proxy Season and ESG Activism
Proxy Season and ESG Activism: What Issuers Should Know
Activism surrounding environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues has grown significantly during recent years. Proxy access will be on the ballot at nearly 100 AGMs this year following a virtually unprecedented uptick in 2015, when the share of S&P 500 firms with access provisions jumped from 2 percent to 20 percent. Being proactive and transparent throughout the year may stem the tide of proxy season headaches. Join Nasdaq and BrownFlynn as we review the most pressing ESG issues for the 2016 proxy season and explore opportunities for issuers to benefit from proactive approaches to ESG management. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act
Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015 Panel Discussion
Nasdaq recently held a web seminar on the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015 (CISA). CISA, which in October 2015 passed the Senate by a 74-21 vote, would allow the private sector and the government to share information on cyber-attacks that can help prevent serious threats to U.S. companies and our critical infrastructure. CISA must now be reconciled with similar legislation passed by the House early in 2015. This web seminar included a panel featuring Dave Toomey, Director of Federal Policy and Government Relations of TechNet, Matt Eggers, Senior Director of National Security and Emergency Preparedness of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and Tyson Macaulay, Chief Security Strategist and Vice President of Security Services at Fortinet.
